Terry Glenn is on pace to have a Pro Bowl season and he really didnt need T.O. to do it! Parcells stole him from Green Bay for a sixth-round pick ( hell he was one of the few first round receivers to not be a bust and went to the Pro Bowl as a rookie and had over a 1000 yards in his first season) and he has produce every season he has been here when healthy. He has displayed class, maturity, and is definitely considered a "Parcells Guy". Now before I get bum rushed by all you guys about what Receiver has been better I want you to think long and hard about talent, contribution, and stats. And before you even think about naming the most overated receiver in NFL history ( Alvin Harper), just think he was only here about four seasons. Sure he got him some rings but if you watch the games you know that he never had over 40 catches is a season and rarely ( I mean rarely) got open. So without further delay here are my top all-time receivers in Cowboy history.

1. Irvin
2. Drew Pearson
3. Bob Hayes
4. Tony Hill
5. Butch Johnson ( questionable but solid choice)
6. Terry Glenn ( provided is makes the pro bowl this season

Basically my point is that in the rich history of our beloved heroes we have never have had receivers who make it to the Pro Bowl and have great statistical seasons. Glenn is on pace ( and has been before injury) to finally be the threat we have always needed. Just think if we had traded for Glenn instead of Galloway! Let the debate begin!!!!

i pretty much agree with you, however if we had traded for glenn instead of galloway he wouldn't be here now and probably wouldn't be considered nearly as good a receiver as he is now. aikman was done at that point, glenn is awesome but a huge part of that is bledsoe and his chemistry and bledsoe's belief that glenn is thebest receiver he has ever thrown too. Glenn wouldn't have that anywhere but next to drew and that makes him way better than he would be anywhere else.

I am not sure what you mean by this. If T.O. is not on the field, I think it changes how the defense covers Glenn and Witten. T.O. is not covered by the top corner or doubled every play, but the defense does have to be aware of him. Glenn is very good and he also benefits from T.O.' presence.

I would agree and by the same token if Glenn continues to kill defenses it will help to free up TO a bit more.

Oh, heck yes. They can really open it up for each other as well as Witten and for either Jones or Barber on little flare outs. As long as the o-line holds up, then the weapons can do some damage.

For me the biggest key for this offense is the ability to run the ball. If we can do that it will take a lot of pressure of Bledsoe and will create even bigger plays in the passing game.

Lance Rentzel and Franke Clarke needs to be added to the list of all time receiving greats. They were before my time, but the stats show them to be pretty good. Clarke had 50 career TDs.

Good list, but no way in hell does Butch Johnson deserve to be that high. Terry Glenn and T.O. are already better receivers than he ever hoped to be.

I'd certainly put Lance Rentzel, Golden Richards, and Joey Gallaway much higher than Butch Johnson.

Glenn has been killing defenses since he has been here...True the T.O.'s presence gives Glenn more opportunities but i think people discount what Glenn has been doing to defenses for years. His first year here he had Quincy Carter as his qb but got hurt ( still has decent numbers and contributed to them making the playoffs.) Then Vinny ( got hurt again but was solid). Parcell brings in a decent QB in Bledsoe and he stays healthy and now we finally get a 1000 yard receiver (without T.O.). Now with T.O. he is now showing how explosive he is because it wasnt Keshaun who was being doubled but T.G. Sure, T.O. presence is a difference maker for the whole offence. But he's the number one receiver, not T.O.

I agree Glenn is a top WR on his own TO just makes his job a bit easier and I think as Glenn continues making big plays DC will have to focus more on Glenn which in turn is going to help free up TO

No oversight...AB was only here for a season and with all the attitude and drops there is no way he was even in the top ten. I would put Golden Richards ( before the drugs), Rocket Ismail, Alvin Harper, kelvin Martin, and Mike Sherrard before Antonio Bryant. He was talented but one and a half season won't make the cut.

Sherrard was only able to play one season for Dallas. Bryant played in 2002, 2003 and part of 2004 for Dallas. No he doesn't deserve to be considered one of the all time great Cowboy receivers.

I don't like to label TO as the #1 and Glenn as #2. I also don't like to label Glenn as the #1 and TO as the #2. I like to think that the team has two #1 receivers.

I disagree with not needing TO. Glenn benefits from TO being here because TO gets the double teams and is a bigger focus for opposing defenses. Glenn didn't have the luxury of being the secondary focus of opposing pass defenses the last few years.

The only other WR I can think of that may be worthy of consideration on your list is Lance Rentzel, but flashing little girls may be reason enough to disqualify him.

Nothing wrong with the top 3, but no Butch doesn't belong on that list at all. Glenn definitely does though. Whether he makes the Pro Bowl or not.

The remarkable thing about Glenn is that the other players all have the advantage of basically being career Cowboys.

And yes, you've got to put Frank Clarke on that list.
