The Cowboys all-time W-L-T record since it’s first season in 1960 is 538-403-6. It’s very interesting to view how the Cowboys have fared against all NFL teams in their 60+ year history. If you’re interested in looking up each NFL team’s record against us, here’s the link: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/dal/head-to-head.htm

Below is a look at the teams we’ve dominated and the few we have not done well against in the regular season. Again if you want the complete list hit the article link.

I remember ol' Jerry requested the Ravens for the last game at Texas Stadium. That went as well as most of the other times Dallas has played them.

Glad I went to the next-to-last one, a win over the Giants.

I had season tickets, and went to all the games. That Ravens loss was one of the most disappointments of all the games I went to. Excluding playoff losses.

To be really picky about things, the Browns were never in the NFC. Originally part of a rival league called the All America Football Conference in 1946, they joined the NFL when that league folded in 1949, along with The 49ers and original Colts. They moved to the AFC when the leagues merged in 1970 along with the Steelers and Colts, never being part of the new NFC

and The Great Cleveland Disasters of the late 60’s were some of the most miserable performances in team history

Right. They were moved to the AFC in 1970 when the merge happened.

It’s crazy how the ravens have dominated us. And it’s also crazy that we’re 0-2 against the Wash team in the playoffs.

Both of the Cowboys losses to Browns in 1968 and 1969 playoffs were considered upsets as we were expected to repeat to NFL title games after 1966 and 1967. Those losses basically ended Merideths career early as he was severely criticized in media .

Th Browns enjoyed their success in the 50’s with Otto Graham as QB winning 4 championships In AAFC and 3 after moving to NFL. I believe he went to like 10 straight championship games .

I remember a regular season game against them in 1969 too. We went into that game 6-0, only to get blown out 42-10. My gosh, that was brutal. They then whomped us in the first playoff game that year 38-14. The real owner of the team then wasn't Clint Murchison, it was the Cleveland Browns.

Meredith retired after the 1968 loss. The 1969 debacle was quarterbacked by Craig Morton. I remember Craig was injured for the season opener and a rookie by the name of Roger Staubach led the team to victory. I wonder what ever happened to him?

No doubt the Browns owned us in the 60’s. As did the Packers.

I’m not sure we would have got by Colts in 1968 champ game or Vikes in 1969 champ game even if we had beat Browns. But both were upset in Super Bowl.

What do they have in common? They played the Arlington Jonesboys very physical and are very physical teams.

The Arlington Jonesboys just do not play physical. The sport is tackle football.

The Dallas Cowboys were a physical team in the 90's and Doomsday was very physical in the late 60's, 70's and early 80's. The only team that gave them problems were the Steelers, Browns and Packers (coach by 3 Hall of Fame Coaches), 3 physical teams. When you have players call Captain Crash, and Manster you match up well against teams.

The Cowboys used to dominate their series with all the team then came the Arlington Jonesboys Country Club,

To this day I still win a few bucks every now and then by betting people that the Jets never won a championship in the NFL. Or some variation of that.

Also interesting to note that the Cowboys are 2nd place regular season all time in winning percentage with 57.2% behind the Packers with 57.4%.

The Cowboys rode the #1 position for a few years after passing up the Chicago Bears, believe it or not. The Bears are now 4th place behind the Patriots who have obviously enjoyed a fast rise over the past 20 years. However, they were so terrible in the past that it took 19 consecutive winning seasons to reach 3rd place all time.

When the Cowboys lost to the Washington Whatevers on Thanksgiving day, 2020 and the Packers defeated the Bears the following Sunday, the Cowboys lost the lead.

Due to the fact that the Packers have played far more games than the Cowboys, each game in the future impacts the Cowboys percentage more than it does the Packers. When you are adding in additional wins and losses to a larger number, it makes less impact.

Anyway, the Cowboys are currently 4 games behind the Packers in NFL highest regular season winning percentage.

The history of NFL team's winning percentage is a direct reflection on the leagues attempt to even out talent with the draft and salary cap. In the 60's thee was a lot of separation in winning percentages among the teams, The difference between the team with the best record and worst record was about 30 percentage points. Now there is only 17 percentage points difference between first place Packers and last place Bucs with their 40.1% winning percentage.

Fifteen teams have an all time losing record including two from the NFC East, the Whatevers and the Eagles.

Not gonna lie, those two losses to Washington in the conference championship games were a few of the lowest points in the history of my Cowboy fanship.

Most of our younger fans have no idea how incredibly dominant the Cowboys were in the 1970s. They were 105-39 in the regular season that decade, when they played only 14 games until 1978 when it changed to 16. They also won 14 playoff games in the 70s. (Compared to 12 in the 90s)

The incredible popularity of the Cowboys started in the 70s.

When you look at Cleveland's record, it's pretty much what you would expect.

But what if I told you that the Cleveland Browns were ranked #1 in regular season winning percentage for two decades? It's true.

The Cleveland Browns started their franchise in history with 10 consecutive winning seasons from 1946 to 1955. After a 5-7 season in 1956 they proceeded to build another 13 consecutive winning seasons before a 7-7 season in 1970.

In the first 25 years of their existence, the Cleveland Browns won 75.2% of their regular season games.

As Bobhaze mentioned, the Cleveland Browns were an NFC team until 1970. They were switched to the AFC after the NFL-AFL merger that year in order to even out the number of teams. Joining them were ex-NFL teams the Steelers and the Colts. Notice Super Bowl 3, played after the 1968 season, the Jets vs. the Colts. The Colts were the NFL representative.
