One thing that stands out when you compare to how the Cowboys play and other teams play and that is that they don't play with the same physicality as most other NFL teams. We're a finesse team and they're proving that finesse teams can't win. Blame goes to the coaches on this one. Jerry's probably got some influence on this also as physical teams aren't flashy and their only attribute is that they just win. He should embrace it but he's going for the easy money from merchandise sales. In the NFL, strength up the middle is the key to consistent winning. Said that after the draft when we only drafted 1 OL and no DL. Said it during training camp and have been saying it ever since. The players on the DL and OL control the game. If you're more physical than your opponent, it demoralizes them and makes your job so much more easier. A simple change to this philosophy will singlely bring this team back to prominence where it belongs.

I thought it was Wade who was soft. That did seem to be the consensus around here a while back...

we are a soft team that's what I hate. Especially our defense. I really hate having a soft defense. Were are the playing til the whistle. Bonecrushing hits? smacking the QB around? heck do we even try to smack anyone around? When the saints were running the ball at will and ingram was getting up all hyped up I was hoping the next carry someone tried to put him on the stretcher. When I played football that ticked me off. Its like the players on defense don't get ticked off, they just go with the flow.

This is why I was annoyed that people tried to act like losing Wilcox wasn't a big deal. Now when bum Heath fails they want JJ back. A true goon on defense surrounded by nice guys

J.Jones needs to go.Bring in Lovie Smith or some hard nose proven HC. Let them hire their own coaching staff. That would be the best way to change this team. They have a loser mentality.Of course thats just a dream as long as J.J. is alive.

true but i disagree about it being an easy fix. this has been an institutional problem for a decade. to fix it means you have to change everything you are, everything you've done to get this point, wipe the DNA completely clean. it means a new coaching staff, it means a new approach to training camp, it means changes in the scouting department and changes to the player leadership in the locker room.

Do you mean like marshmellow soft or pudding soft? If so, then that's pretty soft if I do say so myself.

To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.

A coach with fire in the belly would be nice. Thought we had that in our defensive coach Ryan. Hell he had a barn burner with that belly of his.

Wade was soft too. There's a common denominator here....

Yeah, there does seem to be a problem with discipline that goes back years. I'm talking about penalties in the red zone, on critical 3rd downs, or when we're pinned deep at our end of the field. At times, they seem to be almost automatic. It is borderline shameful our coaches and players are unable to fix this.

That's why I think it really stems from Jerry. Jerry always says the fans really own the Cowboys and that he's just a caretaker. Well, he's a horrible caretaker.

I just wish we played outdoors instead of a cozy dome. Football in Texas should always be played outdoors...I don't care how hot it gets in August and September...high schools and colleges have to deal with it too.

I hate being a negative nelly, but, we're physically soft and mentally weak! What a combination. Playoffs here we come:eek:
