I’ve got a truck load to say but I’m not sure some will handle it well. It’s controversial, troubling. It will bring agitation... raise hackles. Some will run, others fight. It will be tough times for the Zone.

All this will come in the form of a simple question. And then another. Both Incendiary.

So we need to lay the foundation. Rationally, coolly.

Let’s first review:
Dallas has the same record—ON THE ROAD—that the best NFC teams have had AT HOME. Over 4 seasons.

That’s a fact, it seems like our road games are really home games with as many fans that go, home games always has the visiting teams with more fans (at least it sounds like it on TV)
Sorry, but just not true on opposing fans outnumbering at home. There was a great swell when the stadium opened because of the novelty, but not in the last few years other than a couple of games. There were suprisingly few Cheeseheads at the 2016 playoff game and the home fans were highly energized and vocal.

I’m going to out on a limb and say it’s because we go for it on 4th down on the road at a higher rate than at home.

More groundwork...

Roughly speaking Vegas factors 2.5-3 points advantage into playing at home. But what many fans don’t realize is that this advantage depends on venue. Not all stadiums are equal.

Bill Barnwell (ESPN) compiled data over 17 years to forge a loose metric called observed HFA (Home field advantage).

He correctly emphasized that even w/17 years of data, HFA is a very loose approximation. In a single season you might see a team like the Seahawks, with their famous 12th man, not do particularly well at home.

The strength of the data is it’s lifespan and even 17 years is a limited data set.

Here are his findings for Home field advance (HFA):
#1 Seahawks 5.1 point per game advantage
#2 Packers 4.7 point per game

Dallas was 26th...1.8

Perhaps they could petition the league to let the No. 1 seed play an away game in the playoffs
It should be at the option of the better seeded team, team and stadium owner not able to add his thoughts...ha

Dallas is the ultimate road team in the NFC over the past four years. And it’s not even close!

Even including the down 2015 season...nobody in the NFC has won more road games than Dallas. The Cowboys have piled up an absolutely golden 23-9 record in roadies spanning ‘14, ‘15, ‘16, and ‘17.

To put that in perspective...that’s a winning percentage that gets you in the playoffs every season. All on the road while sleeping in hotels and facing a wall of noise.

How does this road record stack up?
#1 Dallas: 23-9
#2 Atlanta: 18-14

Quite Simply...they’ve been killing it.

More thoughts...and a very controversial question coming in a bit...

LOL...........and they are terrible at home in the regular season AND the playoffs. Sad.

More critical background info:

Db impacts winning football. Here we aren’t talking defensive backs but decibels.

Seahawk’s 12th man once measured 137.6 dB. Chiefs fans once hit 142.2 dB...that’s louder than sitting below a jet while it’s taking off.

At the Vike’s dome...they distribute free ear plugs to fans as they enter.

Let’s consider the ways noise makes a difference next.

Less pressure to win on the road, and virtually the same ratio of fans for/against the Cowboys as Jerryworld.

We've gone for it 25 times at home ... and 25 times on the road.

Percentage-wise, it's slightly lower on the road. On fourth downs, we've had more punts (137-116) and more field-goal attempts (58-53) on the road than at home.

Let’s amplify the focus here:

With Romo or Dak at quarterback...over the past 4 seasons...here is our road record:
21-4

That is flat stupid to think. Crazy sick. Better than Pats and Brady.
