LOL they start the new random rotation of people. On todays show it was Eatmon and Mickey with Eagleton hahahaha

They spent the first 15 mins talking bout the superbowl, not doing that.

Rumors of Marshawns deal on the table with Seattle, think if that happens and number are accurate does it put DAL in a bad situation with negotiations with Murray?
Eatmon: It affects him, but i dont know if its negative. If they were willing to give him 4 early in the yr, his price has gone up from there, but not 10. Then youre getting in the talk of just franchising him.

Mickey: i dont think it affects, i think it affects on what Murray is going to want, but i dont think it affects what Dallas is going to offer.

Mickey: Murray doesnt have a dimension that really sticks out. He isnt going to run over anybody like Marshawn lynch does. He's not going to run away from anybody and he doesnt have the vision.

Seeing how Dallas is structured and how the yr he had this yr he success is a product of the OL.

Mickey: if there wasnt a salary cap no question Murray is in Dallas. But in todays era, theres a list of alot of other guys that need to be signed. Then think do i have a guy who can give me 1800 yards? Probably not, but i think i do have a guy who can get me 1300 yrds.

Mickey: give him a 3yr deal where you are guaranteeing more money but keeping the salary around 5mil a yr. Does Murray take a 3 yr 15mil contract or go somewhere where they offer more money but are bogus yrs where he wont earn that money. If he was smart he would take the 3 yr and put the money in the bank.

Have you seen another yr where they have had so many starter type players as Freeagents?
Mickey: NO
Eatmon: They have 2 guys who need to be resigned.
Eatmon: most of these other guys when they were brought in the expectations werent high. so its a tricky situation on the money end.

On Dez situation, they havent signed him and it just seems like the Cowboys are concerned on how he handles the situation. And the guaranteed money.

Go thru the lists of FAs after Dez and Murray importance

#3
Eagleton: Justin Durant, because he's the most versatile.
Eatmon: i had Durant at 5. Think the other guys are better on talent. Hitchens lowers Durant value
Mickey: McClain is my #3, but there are questions there and reliability.
Eagleton: Thats why i have Durant because he is Reliable.
Eatmon: the thing i dont like about Durant is you get a OL on him he's gone from the play.
Mickey: i dont think he will cost enough that it will be important to worry about signing him.
Eatmon: Free is my #3
Eagleton: if you cant get Free Parnell would be cheaper
Eatmon: i dont know about that because the age factors in teams dont pay age
Eatmon: i like Free for what he does for the locker room and the OL.
Eatmon: the biggest reason is because he wants to be here.
Mickey: i think his run blocking is what separates him from Parnell.

Eagleton: i have Free at 5 and Parnell at 6.
Eatmon: i have Parnell at 12
Eatmon: i like Parnell and he's probably lower then he should. But i want Free at 3 I cant spend the money on Parnell.
Mickey: he scares me. I dont think he gives you the reliable blocking on that side.
Eagleton: In terms of his development he's probably where he should be.
Eatmon: i will say he keeps himself ready to go in to play.
Eatmon: he's not as good as Free, but he's serviceable and thats a scary thing to pay.

Caller: Agree with keeping the spending on Murray down. He had a great season but he isnt a great player.
Think Dallas needs to use them resources they will have to improve the the De posistion because where Dallas will be drafting there doesnt seem to be a guy who can be a catalyst.

Think the caller brought up a good idea about using the transition tag on Murray. Avg of the top 10 players at his posistion and they can match an offer.

Dwayne harris, Nick Hayden, Selvie, Spencer

Eatmon: i have hayden at 5. Hes one of marinellis guys. Some people think he doesnt do a good job. He does a really good job on what the scheme asks of him. But do you sign him or say, theres this other guy who can be good too.

Mickey: i dont think it wont cost much to bring back Hayden. Rather have him then Selvie

Eatmon: the guy thats curious to me is melton. Obviously hes not getting that money. Hes not going to retire.
Mickey: hes young enough to take a deal to bet on himself. Seems like the more he played the less productive he got. Seems like there was some worry about how engaged he was in the process. Just sort of laid back, i need a badass in there. Too many nice guys on that DL.
Eagleton: you can get the 1tech type later in the draft. Plenty of big nasty guys in the middle of the draft. Let Marinelli work with them
Mickey: how do you think it affect melton and hayden knowing that the team likes and will have Whaley, Gardner, and Okoye coming this yr?
Mickey: these guys were good in college but injuries stole their yr.

Spencer?
Eatmon: Jerry Jones loves Spencer and i can see Spencer staying.
Eagleton: none of these guys will command a big contract. If they wanted them shouldnt be hard to sign them.

Eatmon: harris, i think i would move on
Eagleton: he does alot of things
Eatmon: think it depends on what they do with Beasley
Mickey: his price just went up with what happened in the superbowl

The Murray conundrum has mad me look at drafting a RB with a 1 or 2 pick.
Something i wouldn't have thought about not long ago.

I think we get all the FA's we want back but Murray is the exception. of course
Jerry will probably prove me wrong. The FO is really haven't to earn their off season
pay this year.

Tyhanks LM Cowboy break is a good one

No power, no speed, no vision. I know he got 1800 yards and AP offensive player of the year and we want to keep the band together. But I'm not giving him more than $5M a year. He isn't that

He has power i didnt agree with Mickey there, but i agree he's not going to run away from anybody, and he misses alot of big runs because he doesnt hit the hole. And there is the fumbles. He had his biggest fumble in the biggest game of the yr. Think if he doesnt fumble he scores and GB is demoralized.

Letting the 26 year old offensive player of the year walk over a million or 2 difference per year... let me just say they better not skip a beat and miss the playoffs.

Not for nothing but there are a lot of posters that act like this is a done deal... May I remind everyone that free agency hasn't even started yet?

So they are still playing games with this man I see

that is pure speculation by this bunch. Dez has earned enough goodwill that in JJ and JG eyes I do not think this is an issue, or course I will be honest and say I am just speculating.

Thanks as always for the recap LM!

I definitely see all parties taking a 'wait and see' approach to free agency. The Cowboys have their numbers for Murray, and if someone greatly exceeds that, I expect both sides to part amicably.

I think the Bryant deal eventually gets done, but it might take the tag first.

As for Free/Parnell, I disagree with anyone thinking Parnell will come cheaper. I fully expect Free to be back and for Parnell to get overpaid by the Commanders.

I'd be fine seeing Spencer back for another year, but he has to realize that the big money days are past.

Based on Spencer play last season I think he knows this. Last year Anthony Spencer signed a 1 year / $2,000,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including $250,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $2,000,000

I hope so, but he was coming back from micro fracture surgery and nobody was going to take a chance on that. And I don't expect anyone to risk paying him big money going forward, certainly not us. Even he's looking for that, he can look elsewhere.

I agree but I also think he still has much to prove in terms of effectiveness. He was showing signs of getting his legs back and maybe more confident that his knee would hold up but still is no where close to commanding a big contract. Add to that you have the age issue so I don't expect any big offers by anyone. My best guess is if he wants to continue playing it will be in Dallas for a modest contract.

If Dallas puts an emphasis on getting a DE who can bring pressure Spencer will be looking at more of a backup roll. I like Spencer but he is one of the guys I am hoping we upgrade from. I would love to have him as a back up and finish his career but not counting on him to be a big part of this defense.

Definitely agree. I'd keep him for rotation work only. He had moments where he looked good last year, but nothing I would want to count on him for my pass rush.

I'm sorry, but I have been underwhelmed by Spencer. What exactly has he done in his time with the Cowboys? Or maybe I'm missing something?

Amazing how any rb can loaf to over 1,800 with no power or vision.

Yea, our o-line is good, but the aren't going up against D3 schools, you could say he doesn't have elite speed, but he clearly has speed. You can say he isn't the strongest RB, because he clearly isn't Lynch, but you'd be hard pressed to name a RB that moves defenders forward more. And I'll even concede he has average vision, but he's also one of the better receivers coming out of the back field

I'm stunned on how anyone could think a guy who's had 0 sacks the last two seasons and constantly gets pushed around on running plays is a good fit for this defense.
