Hope it translates. Would be great if we could get a solid season out of him.

Morris Claiborne didn’t miss Thursday’s preseason opener because he’s still battling knee issues.

The fourth-year corner is ready to go. It’s the Cowboys coaching and training staff that decided to hold him out.
The Cowboys seem to be playing it very safe with some players this summer. I've read this same story several times the last few days. Holding back DMC did give us something to discuss the last week or so I guess. Still this is good news about Mo. He has to be feeling the pressure to get on the field and make some plays.

It would be good so we could get one decent season From him before he's gets the hell out of here.

What if he's the Mo they hoped for out of college this year?

I believe his main problem in the pros has been his lack of confidence so this is encouraging. Hopefully Claiborne can turn into a solid corner. His college highlights certainly show he can play.

I like your sentiment but let's be honest - you can either play or you can't and he's had plenty of opportunity to show he has the instincts, coverage skills, will to tackle and confidence to play cornerback in the NFLand he simply has't done it with any kind of consistency.

Mo just can't sell us he's been hurt in some way ever since he's put on the star. Obviously you root for him to be the player that deserved the draft position, but it would be one of the most stunning turnarounds in team history if he ever plays at an elite level.

If he is even a good 3rd CB, its a huge bonus. We could be six deep at CB this year, Scandrick is hurt but he was our best CB last year. Carr isn't an All Pro but he is OK. Jones and Corey White looked good against SD and Patmon has improved over last year.

If Claiborne plays well (and even if he doesn't) we will have quantity and quality at CB this year. I think its even more reason to move Byron Jones to FS.

This may be his last year here, but hope he does well and contributes regardless of what happens after this season.

I'm pulling for him, but I've heard this pre-season confidence out of him before.

Stop talking. Go out and show me.

I am pulling for him too. But I can see him being more confident going into this TC than ever before.
He always had some injury holding him back Heck he even was coming off a wrist injury when drafted. And this year when it seemed we all thought he would start the year on PUP. Not just TC, but also the season. Coming off knee surgery. But yet he was full go at the start of TC. Now how much have the coaches held him back, working him in slowly, I don't know.
But seems he is ready. but yes, he needs to show it. But I can see why is feels better than ever.

Let him play underneath attacking the ball with a safety over the top. He might surprise us and get a few picks....

If he plays decently, I would sign him to a short term deal with middling money.

I agree. I want to see Mo at 3-4 mil replace Carr at 12.

Why concerned with the $$$ at this point. Nothing can or will be done. Just hope that both play great and help win.
Worry about this stuff in the off season.

Mo needs to fight, because I wouldnt be shocked if they decide not to start Carr because of his hand and only play him in subpackages early in the season.

And given that Carrs play hasnt made him indispensable, if whomever gets those starts plays well, they could find themselves the permanent starters this season. However that could just as easily be Jones as it is Claiborne
