Some good news and quotes from Scandrick here. I was worried that he'd be a problem after all of the trade talk surrounding his name, but thankfully it looks like it's only motivated him further.

I'd much rather hear about him being fired up than being a problem.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick was initially miffed about his name coming up in trade rumors during the 2017 NFL Draft last month

And that was before the team finished a defensive-heavy draft with the addition of three cornerbacks, including two who could conceivably replace him in the slot in the form of Colorado’s Chidobe Awuzie (second round) and Michigan’s Jourdan Lewis (third round).

I figured Orlando would just be more motivated by the whole thing. It seems like he is a better player when he feels like he is disrespected.

He has a spot on this team, for at least this year.

Yea, I don't think it would be wise to move on from him unless he looks really bad in camp

A healthy Scandrick is/was very good in coverage. Almost top end. His ball skills are abysmal though. If he could have converted half the balls he were in position to pick he would have been a no doubt Pro Bowler. I can't count how many times he'd have great coverage only to give up a catch because he can't track the ball. But the ball skills are part of the whole package, so he is what he is. Plus he's played 16 games once in the past six seasons.

Agreed, but notice his own reference to himself needing to be healthy. Which has been a issue with him.

Never knew why Scandrick got so much hate. A lot of people were butthurt about his contract, which was actually a great deal.

I like him. And when he's healthy he's a pretty good slot CB, that's a difficult position.

I think they just shopped him to see if anyone would overpay if they didn't get a CB they wanted in the draft.

Like him or not....truth is we did get if Awuzie and Lewis get to Scandrick's level.

While I think we did a good job in the draft, we still need some vets. A motivated, and healthy, Scandrick would definitely help this young secondary out

yep. gotta have a good mix in there. but i do think it was odd to parade his name out during the draft. that created some issues for themselves.

People, whining about stone hands on CBs is dumb. If they could CATCH the ball they would be WRs. Now clearly some are better than others but that is the general rule.

This has always been as silly argument. Can they run crisp routes? Can they read the defense? Or is WR just about catching the ball? It's not asking too much for a guy to make some plays on the ball every now and again.
