This season was cooked before it began. We came into this year with no healthy CBs, a bunch of castoffs at LB, one good DT, and a bunch of rotational pass rushers. Compound those roster problems with an ultra conservative and stubborn DC forcing a zone scheme on players who are best in man, and this is what you get.
The defense gives every single team in the league a chance to win against us, regardless of their record or starting QB or whatever else is wrong with them. And it won't get better. In fact, the more the defense plays, the worse they get, even struggling with fundamental things like running to the right spot and tackling an opposing player. They can't even do that.
Yes, playoffs are out of the picture. The question now is, how high can our draft pick be (assuming we don't trade it away for a 3 month rental player)?
