Merry Christmas. I thought this might make for a good topic. Back in your youth, did you get any Christmas gifts that were Cowboys related somehow? If so, what were some of your favorites?

Back in 1974 or '75, I received an "Electric Football" game. The two teams that came with the game were generic players. One team had dark jerseys, the other had light colored jerseys. Of course because of Dallas' propensity for wearing white jerseys, I always did that in this game. That Xmas gift I got hours and hours of use out of.

And then, maybe a year or two later, I started getting the tabletop football games played with dice. These were strategic games based on the previous year's stats. Strat O Matic was one and the other was APBA Football. Each year after that, I would get the updated card set for each game- this was for all teams. I used to enjoy playing the Cowboys against teams like the Saints or Falcons because in the mid 70s these teams were bad. I enjoyed having final scores like Dallas 38 Atlanta 7. :D

What kind of Dallas Cowboys related Xmas gifts do you remember getting?

Merry Christmas to all!

Ever since 1977, I asked for Cowboys stuff ranging from shirts to a deck of cards to accessories. My favorite was a cool Dallas watch with the Star on the face. It was in 1981 or so and I cherished it.

Well, we were out riding our three-wheelers(all new Xmas gifts) at our favorite trails complete with jumps and everything. This one guy had a Suzuki bike and decided to peel off in front of us. A rock came flying out and hit my watch right in the face and broke it. I cried and cried and this guy felt really bad(he was the neighborhood bully BTW). He said he would pay me $2 a week until his debt was paid. I think that lasted a month or so until we forgot about it.

To this day(30ish years later), we joke and laugh about it when we see each other(rare occasion anyways). I will never forget that watch until the day I die, was my first one.

Also, didnt we all get Cowboys PJ's and some kind of a Dallas Cowboys blanket for our bed? They were okay, but I liked the games much more.

i knew you were good people dupree..

thanks again for that stream from last sunday.

i got the electric football game from the dallas/ pittsburgh 1979 superbowl when i was 11 years old.

i played the hell out of it.....turn that field on and the players did everything and anything but the right thing.

had a little dial to adjust on the bottom ...never seem to work right ...but special memories indeed.

had some t- shirts and a jacket also.

i remember my aunt made me a dallas cowboy helmet made of that loop and yarn..

..

maybe a preview of a Garrett-coached team?
As for that stream, I tried it on gameday just for the fun of it and I couldnt get it to work. Glad it worked for you!
And yes, those football games of our youth were great memories. I used to keep stats and everything. I played that game so much.

I get Cowboys gear every Christmas, my prized possession was an Emmitt Smith Autographed authentic Jersey my parents got me when I was 10. Such an awesome gift. My first present was a huge box that had an empty glass frame(which of course confused me) and my next gift was the jersey. Fav gift ever.

I still have a Cowboys trashcan from Christmas 1981. And of course my Cowboys Xmas stocking, and last year my gf bought me NFL Elite Cowboys headphones that I use constantly.

I got the 92 Emmitt jersey.

Had the champion version way back in middle school.

Wish the Cowboys would go back to that being their blue jersey or wear it as their throwback.

Merry Christmas! I never really got anything Dallas. My mom was trying to take care of 7 kids without having a husband around, and presents didn't come easily....I always received things from Notre Dame though since she was born and raised there, and had some items that I consider memorabilia (she called it stuff from her old house, her house was where the touchdown Jesus building is now)

Ha! I had one of those too, except no Cowboys, the teams were the Rams and someone else, don't remember. And yeah, the thing never worked right, all the players would just sort of bunch up on the sidelines. Still had fun.

There wasn't much football related stuff to buy in those days really. You were lucky if you had a jersey or cap.

That's probably about the time I had mine, only maybe earlier than that. I would have been 13 in 75, so I think it was well before that. My game had little felt footballs that you had to tuck in the runners arm. It came with a special player that would pass or kick. Never worked the way we wanted it though.
