Cowboys' Cole Beasley: Not targeted against Washington

Cole Beasley was not targeted during Monday's win over Washington.

Beasley failed to record a catch for the third time this season on Sunday. Despite seeing the field on 25 snaps on Monday, nine more than fellow receiver Lucky Whitehead, Beasley received three fewer touches. With Tony Romo out of the lineup for the foreseeable future, if not the season, all bets are off for Beasley.

Yes he was.. Cassel threw a quick pass to him that hit the ground. I guess that doesn't count as a target. Did they not watch the game?

Maybe Cassel should have bounced the ball off the back of Beasley's helmet to have remained guiltless from not targeting him more. As if Beasley got many targets in the other games as well...that Romo was missing from.

And the slant where the Bease didn't turn around and look for fast enough. So there is 2 targets off the top of our heads....Maybe they meant receptions?

I thought there was another that got batted down at the line, but yes, there were at least two.

It's really getting ridiculous that we can't get our playmakers involved. Escobar, Beas, Dez...

Escobar and Beas are playmakers?

Beasley is. He should be our number one option to beat the overload blitzes. He has the quickness to get quick separation and has really good run after catch ability. If we had better offensive coaches he could be a borderline star. On the slant that Cassel missed, he may have scored had the ball been on target.

Haha yeah he was targetted on that terrible throw where Cassel looked like a practice squad QB, telegraphing his throw, throwing in the dirt, while missing Dez for an easy TD.

Beasley would be a monster in an offense that utilized rub routes. He's also usually wide open at least a few times a game.

Cassel rules.

Cassell cant scan the field,he misses wide open guys.Imo he is not even worth a backup role and thats why he has been cut by so many teams.I hope Jerry drafts a QB who can sit and learn from Romo for 2 years.

Beas just got rewarded like one and Escobar could be.

Let's just say this, the would be in NE, NY, and GB for sure! Our offense sucks!

I agree - I think Escobar could be really effective but not as long as Witten is around in this offense. Look no further than Marcellus Bennett.

Sadly the slant or cross to Beasley plays to Cassel's only strength.

I know. But a great playcaller would get them both involved. Remember the murderer and Gronk together?

If I were Jerry I would be questioning why we have used 2 picks on TE's that do not see the field.

Yeah, that'll solve our problems if Romo goes down again. A rookie QB who will most likely play on the level of both Cassel and Weeden.

ok then.how many games did we win without Romo? you guys kill me.Drafting a QB is the way forward, have you seen Mariotta and Winston play this year.you dont think we could have won more games with that level of play?.

Mariota and the Titans went on a 6 game losing streak after winning only one. Then went on a 3 game losing streak before winning another. So, no, I don't think we would have won more games with them.

Again, you are asking for us to draft a rookie QB while the overwhelming majority of rookie QBs come in playing at a below average to average level. That's not the answer. Get a decent veteran backup QB in here.

he was injured and didnt play some games. he is not the reason they are losing games.i dont think you have watched both these guys play.If we had comparable level of play from the a rookie QB then we would be leading the division comfortably. There is also nothing keeping us from signing a veteran while still drafting a QB.If we wait till Romo retires to draft a QB then we might get stuck with the Christian Ponders of the world. If they like a QB in 2016 draft they should draft him regardless of the RD.
