By no means is the rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts great and memorable. Both teams have a plethora of Hall of Fame and other great players participate in this rivalry that goes back to 1961. The most famous game of course was Super Bowl V - from the 1970 season played in January of 1971. This still may be the ugliest of Super Bowls; many people refer to this as the Blunder Bowl. It is the other side of the spectrum that folks need to make note.

The Cowboys and Colts have played 18 games now (counting Super Bowl V). Eight of those game have been decided by 20 points or more:

1961 - Colts 45 Dallas 7 Bob Lilly's rookie season
1972 - Cowboys 21 Colts 0
1978 - Cowboys 38 Colts 0 Opening Monday Night following Super Bowl XII Championship
1981 - Cowboys 37 Colts 13 Glen Carano was Dallas' QB
1993 - Cowboys 27 Colts 3 Novachek fake FG rush TD
2014 - Cowboys 42 Colts 7 Romo scored on 1st 4 possessions
2018 - Colts 23 Cowboys 0 Running game & defense stifles the Cowboys
2022 - Cowboys 54 Colts 19 Lethargic first 3 quarters followed by 33 point 4th quarter.

So a blowout in this game should surprise no one.

You want another weird all time series strange stat? Neither the Dolphins nor the Raiders has ever blown Dallas out. All wins by those teams over Dallas were one score margins. Even bad teams have routed Dallas before, but somehow these two storied franchises has never put a whoopin' on the Cowboys.

My favorite Cowboys-Colts game was the 2006 game where the Colts came in with Peyton Manning and a 9-0 record and the 5-4 Cowboys beat them :D

Yes, I loved that game also. I just chose to focus on the blowouts as this is what Dallas does to teams for the most part recently.

What is the career H2H?

Cowboys lead the all time series 11-7.

Edit to add the current all time series for Dallas against the other 31 NFL teams:

The Cowboys currently lead the series against 26 teams which is the best in the NFL.

Only 5 teams currently have a winning record against the Cowboys. These are the Ravens, Browns, Raiders, Broncos and Packers.

The Cowboys are also 1-0 vs the College All-Stars.

The Browns? That's surprising, great info by the way, good work!

It was because of ancient history. The Browns were a dominant franchise when the Cowboys began as an expansion team. The Browns would routinely thump the Cowboys. They won the first 8 in a row vs Dallas which is still tied for the longest win streak by any team against the Cowboys (Philly tied this record).

Since the merger the Cowboys have won more than they lost against the Browns.

There is also an asterisk as the original Browns are now the Ravens. The new Browns have a 1-3 record vs Dallas, but the league insists on its retcon of who the Browns/Ravens really are.
