Really?

They have had many chances to bring in a knucklehead/problem child/cancer over the last two years and they have resisted.

Maybe, just maybe they have learned.

Tell me that when we dont have multiple drug suspensions.

That player was picked 3-years ago!

Come on man you gotta admit the last two years they seem to have done a much better job.

It want hurt man come on! ;)

We drafted a guy this year who is accused of domestic abuse ....... and the biggest free agent we picked up was arrested for DWI a week later.

Accused! The Cowboys say they did their due diligence in investigating the accusation and Nolan has been an outstanding citizen up to that point. But it's cool man I can understand your frustration as it's getting old with the constant off field issues. I just believe they have done a much better job of trying to clean that part up.

The starting qb everyone loves (except RS) was arrested for DUI last year.

Go for it.

IT will fly under the radar and won't cause a big stir and could potentially improve our team.

So many fans are sitting here saying: "Can't hurt. Get him cheap and give him a shot".

However, if Dallas did and he played well in 2017 - and then did something dumb, getting suspended in 2018 - the fan base would be roasting the Cowboys for bringing in a guy that can't be trusted.

How many of the people saying give him a shot would also complain next year in the above scenario?

My guess is a whole **** load of them.

The problem isn't the money spent... it is what happens if he's still very good? Do you rely on him? Do you not? Will he be here the next season? Do you draft a LB or not? Will he effect the locker room in a negative way? Will he help it in a positive way? If so, what happens when he gets suspended again?

It simply isn't worth the effort and the time spent with him.

I learned a valuable lesson with McClain.

I would not bother me if they sign him.

I would not bother me if they did not sign him.

Just let the coaches make the decision to keep or cut him. I think Jerry made the decision on RoMc. IMO the coaches knew right away that RoMc was going to be a problem.

Jerry talked RoMc into playing when he had already "retired" twice.

If they sign him it should be a Greg Hardy type contract where he gets paid per game played.

What position do you think Washington would play?
SAM.

He played ILB at Arizona, not OLB in the Cardinals 3-4 scheme. He was also a box linebacker in TCU-s 4-2-5.

He's a box (Tackle to Tackle) guy with the athleticism and speed to make plays all over the field. He's the kind of SAM LB you don't necessarily have to take off the field on passing downs.

Athletically he could play all 3 LB spots. Judging by his sack totals he could play the Otto linebacker that was mentioned a couple seasons back. Seahawks used it for Bruce Irvin when they had him.

The 9ers are rumored to be considering cutting Navarro Bowman, I'd wait this out until then.

Do you mean the LEO position?

What position do you think Washington would play?

AZ was a 3-4 team.

He had 9 sacks in 2012 which was his only season starting all 16 games.

He is 6-2, 240 (per NFL.com).

He has 34-1/2 arms which can make up for lack of height/size with pass rushers to some extent.

Marinelli has used Wilber at both SLB and DE so there is some history of having a LB also take snaps as a pass rusher.

Nickel rusher or LB is those 3-3-5 looks we are so fond of. Elephant look like SF used to run back in the day.

Yeah, but some teams have a similar position called otto. That's why I put the wrong one.

I remember SF calling it the elephant and they ran Harris out of it. Getting caught up in jargon seems counterproductive given the nature of the subject.

These are the kinds of character risks I'm perfectly ok with talking. And Daryl Washington was a heck of a player. We need as many guys like that as we can get. I'm not sure he pushes out Damien Wilson, but he'll definitely push him.

Fly under the radar??

Good one Catch! It will lead sportscenter as soon as it's announced!

Nah... Not a big enough name.

Media is about click baits. A guy like Greg Hardy was better for them because he provided click baits and allowed them to grand stand on the subject and they profited off the circus.

There is no profit with Darryl Washington. It will at best fill a segment on first take.

For those that are wondering, he was suspended twice for pot and also for pushing his baby mama in a custody dispute and breaking her collarbone.
