So far this season, Dallas has at least 200 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in every game. That stretch of seven games ties the 2006 team for the longest such streak in franchise history. In league history, only three teams have had longer single-season streaks:

9 Seahawks 2015
9 Cardinals 1984
8 Eagles 2010
7 Cowboys 2016*
7 Patriots 2012
7 Cowboys 2006
7 Dolphins 1984
7 Steelers 1980

Looking at this list makesnme a little nervous.

How many of them also won the Super Bowl that year?

If that doesn't scream quality production from the two 'rooks,' Prescott and Elliott, this fan doesn't know what would.

cowboys will be in the playoffs.
The nfc east is better this year as I predicted before the season, it is actually much better than I thought it would be.
I dont know how far you would have to go back to see the last time all teams in div had a winning record at mid season.
Cowboys have a 2 game lead, so they should win the div.

Beating the eagles was huge, lose and they are tied with eagles. only 1 div loss, so that is good.
Right now cowboys clearly control their destiny, and I think GB will put a loss on the other teams in div, same for pitt and ravens, and Cin.

This is just a stat that shows how consistently productive we've been in both phases offensively.

The teams on the list without postseason wins all had defenses that ranked in the bottom half of the league. The only teams with postseason wins were the ones with Top 10 defenses ('84 Dolphins, '12 Patriots, '15 Seahawks). None of them won a Super Bowl, and all of their playoff losses happened when their opponent scored 28+ points.

200 yds. passing and 100 yds. rushing is a pretty inspirational streak to have when you think about it.

You simply can't knock stats like that, especially if they translate to winning when all is said and done.

It also might be interesting and encouraging to note that there's a good chance it will continue Sunday.

Wow a little shocking not to see the 92 team on here or any team from that run.

Love it

The dominant o-line is clearly what makes this possible. But the skill guys must consistently execute.

Kind of surprised the 2104 team didn't do it...maybe they had 5-6 in row, a break and the 5-6 in a row again?
I haven't looked it up.

---

ok, looked it up

Behind an o-line similar to this one, in 2014 the team with Romo and Murray did the 200/100 thing 13 of 15 games. On one game they came up short by one yard (199 passing)...lol.
So really 14 of 15.
They laid an egg vs Philly on Thanksgiving though.
And Weeden had one game in there too, and the team failed to do it in that game.

To Dak and Zeke's credit, last year's team had a great line too and they had very little success.

So huge, we can win tomorrow and stumble down the stretch going 4-4 and still likely win the division at 11-5.

Well, streaks like this are always a little random, since no team actually has a goal of getting these numbers, which means it's really dependent on how the game goes.

The '95 team did it 10 times.
In the second game of the season, they passed for 196 yards while beating Denver handily. We barely passed in the second half.
In game 13, they ran for 96 yards in a loss to the Commanders. They were passing almost exclusively in the fourth quarter.

The '93 team did it 8 times. They had games with 91 and 98 yards rushing in there. They also beat the Eagles 23-10 while passing for 85 yards and rushing for 271.

Streaks are meant to come to an end.
Here's a list that's crawling with Hall of Famers and championships. WPBCowboysFan mentioned elsewhere that we were the first team ever with 5 straight games over 180 yards both passing and rushing. That piqued my curiosity about streaks of 180-yard rushing performances. Our current one is the longest in 30 years.

We would've been held to 132 rushing yards in the last game without the fake punt and the OT, but you need those games to keep that kind of streak going, because you're eventually going to run into great defenses. Here are the only teams with at least 5 consecutive games of 180+ rushing yards in league history, along with HOF players at RB or OL.

8 Dolphins 1972 (Csonka, Langer, Little)
8 Steelers 1972 (Harris)
7 49ers 1951 (Nomellini, Perry)
6 Steelers 1975 (Harris, Webster)
6 Rams 1973 (Mack)
6 Browns 1958 (Brown, Hickerson, McCormack)
6 Bears 1956 (Jones)
6 Eagles 1949 (Van Buren, Wojciechowicz)
5 Cowboys 2016* (???)
5 Bears 1985 (Payton)
5 Rams 1980 (Slater)
5 Steelers 1976 (Harris, Webster)
5 Dolphins 1975 (Csonka, Langer, Little)
5 Raiders 1975 (Shell, Upshaw)
5 Bills 1973 (DeLamielleure, Simpson)
5 49ers 1954 (McIlhenny, Perry, St. Clair, Johnson)
5 Eagles 1950 (Bednarik, Van Buren)
