Dak went in the 4rth round and people were mad because we could of had other trash qbs instead hahaha... you guys don't know ** I'll let the professionals do their job. If taco was their man then I'm fine with that. 3 years later we can decide if this was a good draft or not.

Some folks are truly only happy if they have something to complain about.

And damn it if there's nothing to complain about, we'll just manufacture something!
Let's remember the squeaky wheel theory.

There's a small group of whiney fans that sadly love the attention they get with their incessant complaints. The overwhelming majority of Cowboys fans are not like that imo. It's an enormous fan base which leads to a very large group of crybabies that tend to stand out.

Humor them.

Now I love the Taco pick even more.

This draft class is so deep at CB that there wouldn't have been a huge difference between the CB you take at 28 and the one you take at 60. We're talking about the difference between a guy like King/Awuzie/Tre'Davious White and someone like Moreau or Tankersly. Minimal difference.

There would've been a bigger gap between Taco and the best available DE at 60.

I wish I could like this post 20x

I hope this doesn't turn out like the time the Cowboys passed up on LeSean McCoy who had a first round grade.

At least in the presser....Thats NOT what Stephen said.

He said that they had 18 players graded as 1st rounders and there was still one left going into tomorrow.
He did not mention where Taco was ranked.

These guys made that assumption.

He also didn't say the remaining 1st round grade was a corner, but he did say there were a ton a good corners left and they liked their odds of getting a good one in the 2nd round.
So maybe it is a corner, maybe its not.
Don't kid yourself. If I am betting, I am betting the house on a corner.

Its all moot at this point...............Taco is now a Cowboy and we just have to hope for the best.
Those are my favorite draft picks. The ones you just shrug your shoulders at and "hope for the best".

Some of y'all are splitting hairs. We picked a guy 4 picks too early According to their draft board. Fix the D inside out.

I love it too. Taco is going to fit in nicely. The first piece of our reimagined defense is in town. Keep it going Stephen & Willie!

I dunno....was excited for the draft like every year and then went to bed not so excited...I don't mind the guy, I had him @ #27, so they picked him around where I thought he would go...but, it just reminds me of the drafts before Fred-beard where the war room was all giddy and standing around, fist-bump here, hi-five there, because JJ was standing around smiling....for all we know, there is a full-size cut out of JJ under the camera and out of our view that he was staring at

I'm convinced at this point that the fan base is never satisfied. The truth is we don't know how any of the guys are actually going to turn out. The clubs can only make their best educated guess. For all we know Taco Charelton is a HOF player and Myles Garrett is out of the league in 3 years. Could be the other way around. All I know for sure is that the Cowboys got a DE, that's the position I wanted them to fill in round 1, and I hope he works out.

Old beliefs die hard. The prevailing perception by the media is that the Cowboys draft poorly and teams like the packers and steelers draft with a crystal ball. Several major publications had Taco going To the ravens at 16, but because the Cowboys selected him it will be graded as a reach.

Watch the media, and this forum, praise the packers for drafting Kevin king even though most of his accesments are pretty suspect.

that is the problem with picking at 28, they were determined to get a DE , so they went with bpa of need, not bpa.
They should have traded up or down.
As it is they didnt get a rd 1 player at all, but a high 2nd rd player, that they will be paying rd 1 money.

The patriots and seahawks both traded out of the 1st round for more picks later.
They were in the bottom like dallas.
If you cant get a true rd 1 stud then trade out for a extra pick.

Taco may work out, hard to say, but being a rd 1 pick and money then he needs to be a full time starter year 1.
Patriots traded their first for Brandin Cooks, not to accumulate more picks.
