I had them going EDGE in the first all the way. Stephen said they loved the depth at DE and CB this year. Yet, their pre-draft visits were really top heavy at DE. On the other hand, they met with CB's all throughout Day 1, 2, and 3.

Oh, and I'm not "outraged." I love the strategy. Been pleading for us to go pass rusher first, then CB for the past few weeks.

I have no problem at 28 taking a player with a second rnd grade but I do think there were db's that are much better prospects. I get if there is a better RB or te prospect but it's not like we can't use a db
He may be a good player but purely as a prospect I think we passed on better players at positions of need

Every team pretty much has their pre draft visits reported. Further the Cowboys had more defensive backs than DEs on their 30 visit list.

yeah it wasnt a bad pick, only time will tell, but now comes the 2nd round !!!!!!!!
I think they have to do better this year in 2nd.

No a ridiculous take is overreacting about this "full round" value crap. Full round is too broad a statement. Do you actually think there is a full round difference in terms of value between Charlton and, for ex. King? I personally don't see it.

yeah only time will tell, have to wait and see what king does, and what taco does.
He was not a bad pick for 28, and they wanted a de, and he was the last of the top ranked ones.

I wanted them to trade up, but since they didnt, or trade down, not a bad pick.

I think Charlton was a combination of need and "we better get one before all of the top DEs are gone"...they need DB's and pass rush more than anything....they abandoned BPA, IMO...if they took the BPA when we selected, they should have taken Njoku...
