Cowboys doing Zoom meetings with DC'S

Agreed.

I think both of them get promoted to DC and Flores an Joseph are hired as head coaches
No team is hiring Joseph as a head coach unless they have to settle because nothing is out there.

I think defensive minded head coaches are gonna have harder times getting jobs this time around.

Flores will never be an HC again IMO, just like Mike McDaniels. They have been exposed and are best suited to remain HC’s.

Definitely would like that move...IF it happened, don't be surprised if they make a move for Leo Chanel in FA. Was one of his guys on some really good Wisconsin D's. Also, Leonhard may want Sanborn as a backup since he ALSO was on those D's.
Sanborn couldn’t cover or tackle an octogenarian - no thanks.

Another fan myth. Of course they would want to.
Fans hate for Jerry and this team clouds their judgment.
Jazz, would you be willing to acknowledge that the ability to subordinate yourself to Jerry and deal with all of the meddling, that is pretty much unheard of elsewhere in the league, is a critical factor in candidates decision making about the job?

Do you believe that there are some highly qualified candidates who would simply refuse to work for Jerry, knowing what it is like to be a coach in this organization?

Your comments appear to indicate, at least to me, that you believe that we are all crazy and are inventing the endless stories about Jerry.

Why is flores a pipe dream and why isn’t Leonhard one?
Well, one is more likely than the other for sure

Flores
  • Wants to be a HC and is widely considered to be a desirable candidate
  • He’s already a highly successful DC with a talented defense on a team that wants to retain him and is working on a contract
Leonhard
  • Wants to be a DC but currently has no path in Denver as his boss is highly successful
  • Should his boss take a HC job elsewhere, if is widely believed that Denver would promote Leonhard
  • The Denver defense is elite and highly talented, particularly on the d-line and CB (he would have a much better chance to be successful there)

What happens with Mike McDaniel. Does the Rooney rule apply with him?
Yes, he would satisfy one of the two required diversity candidates.

He’s sought after by teams needing a HC or potential Head Coaches who would want to build a staff with a gifted OC.

Why no Robert Saleh ?? will he ever come here ?
No. He’s interviewing for head coaching jobs and if he wants to remain a DC, they love him in SF and he loves jr there. They have a HC and ownership group that knows how to succeed and the defense is talented

What makes Leonhard unlikely in my opinion, is because Vance Joseph, when I last counted yesteday, has 6 HC interviews lined up, the most of anyone. As has been said it would appear Leonhard would fill that void at DC inheriting talent ready to win now.

However, there are always relationship, family, salary demands behind the scenes that drive those decisions beyond just what we as fans see. I would love to have Leonhard as he is my #2 behind Flores.

Maybe having a chance to get out under Joseph "shadow" and expectations and start with a fresh slate and build it like he wants at Dallas would be too much to turn down.

We'll see but it seems to much to overcome.

I said no such thing. But if that is what you got out of it, that is on you. But don’t go saying stuff I did not say.
I said nothing of fans inventing stories about Jerry..

These coaches would not know how it is to work for Jerry. They would need to form their own opinion from any interviews.
I am sure there are talk amongst themselves from those who had worked for Merry. However, why are not there many stories out there of exactly how he meddles.

Even Parcels said they had a great working relationship. But I am sure there are those fans that will say he is lying.
Nor am I saying he has never meddled. We know he has. So have other owners.

And no I am not defending Jerry for those that chose to ignore what I posted.

Edit: ok. You win. You definitely hold Jerry accountable.

Vance Joseph: Raiders, Ravens, Cardinals, Giants, Titans.

I couldn’t find the sixth but he’s definitely in demand

So far, the Cowboys are the only team I’ve seen that have interviewed Leonhard. I’m sure that will change

Last year a few teams expressed interest but he didn’t interview because he wanted another year in Denver.

Correct but it’s more likely, at least from what I’ve gathered that Joseph will get a HC gig than Flores.
