Sorry to derail a Cowboys victory, but I'm just looking for some advice on an upcoming game.

Nov. 18th I'll be flying in for my very first Cowboys game on the 19th. Currently I have the ticket, but nothing else booked for game day. Do I need to book tickets for tailgating, how does that work? Or am I better off just going straight to the stadium? I'll be driving to the stadium and parking there, so in terms of alcoholic beverages, sadly I'll be avoiding those for the evening.

Also, seeing how it's for my birthday my girlfriend went ahead and booked us a night at the Omni Frisco (located at The Star) on the 21st (I found a keeper). I'm extremely excited for this, mainly because I'll be able to do the tour, check out the gym and all that fun stuff. But it got me thinking, with the Thanksgiving game on the 24th, I should be at The Stay during practice and was wondering is practice open to the public at all? Also, is there anyway to meet/see the players while at The Star?

Thanks!

I know this post won't be helpful, since I have not been there yet, but I hope you have a tremendous time, the Cowboys romp and stomp and you send us lots of pics!

In a sea of threads designed to disqualify the Cowboys win, this, sir, is a welcome respite.

As for advice on area attractions, I can't help you...I'm married with children. o_O

I wish I would've booked a tour of the Star when I was there for the playoff game in January. They were having a playoff pep-rally the day I went, which was cool, but the tours were already sold out. Make sure you book it ahead of time. I also highly recommend a tour of AT&T Stadium, but I don't know that you could tour both places the same day. The stadium tour is awesome. Btw, good luck with all the annoying as hell eagles fans. Last time I went to a game against the eagles, there was a group of several hundred eagles fans sitting in the corner of the end zone that kept chanting "Dallas sucks". At our stadium! Those fans are the absolute worst. I hope the Cowboys boot stomp em! Regardless, it's a great experience for an out of town Cowboys fan. Have fun!

I went to the Philly game last year and I'm going again this year . You have to tour ATT stadium ..it's amazing . I'm going to the star this year, didn't go last year. I'm actually staying at the hotel near the stadium ...I think it's the Marriott. I would love to know of some places to tailgate also.

First of all, congratulations and enjoy the game. I don't post much but had to reply to this. I live in Massachusetts and my wife got tickets to see us play the Patriots for our anniversary (the year we got stomped with Romo and Dez out but it's the thought that counts). I'd make sure to purchase a parking pass for the game. If I remember correctly, ours cost something like $150 and was still a lot a few blocks from the stadium about a short 1/2 mile walk. We walked past all of the tailgaiters outside the stadium. If you don't take an official tour, make sure you go early to have some time to walk around. Also, watch out for the rush of people when the doors open looking to get to the standing area for the game. Again, most of all, enjoy yourselves and cheer like crazy!!!

Thanks for the replay, I should have mentioned that my girlfriend also surprised me and pre booked VIP guided tour of AT&T stadium the day before the game! So that's one thing I'll have completed, did I mention she doesn't even watch football?! She knows me well! Haha

Please do not do this. 150 for parking? Are you insane?

its 20 dollars and up to park on randoll mill road. its a 15 minute walk. Look at lot 15 on the official cowboys map and you will be walking from right there.

Even better option, we went last year and stayed at the Grand Hyatt right in DFW and took an Uber to/from the game. It was super easy. They drop you off right outside the parking lot and then when the game is over you walk outside and there are multiple Ubers ready to take you back to your hotel. This will save you on parking and more importantly you can partake without worrying about drinking and driving.

First you should let your girlfriend drive so you can enjoy rounds of birthday drinks.
