Cowboys edge Ezeiruaku is PFF's No. 5-ranked edge rusher since Week 4

2 in the top 20 is nice!

But it sure doesn't seem like it.
Times to pressure have been good but much less effective at sacks. I feel it is more deficiency in safety deficiency and not enough corner single coverage up to here.

PFF is ridiculous. Eze hasnt shown much so far
Well, his coverage grade is amazing. It's just not an important stat for a DE, but it's bumping his ranking. This is one of PFFs ranking flaws and why you have to look deeper than just the ranking. Now look at EZ's tackling grade. That's a far more important stat for a DE. He's been awful at tackling. He might be the worst tackling DE in the NFL.

If you had to give DL Coach Aaron Whitecotton a grade it would be an F. Everyone on the DL looks regressed. It's just a complete mess.

That makes you wonder how good Ezeiruaku really is to show anything right now.

Screaming again...:grin::thumbdown:

Hey, sweetie...I received four leadership schools as a Senior NCO and attended the Air Force Academy first. I had to then wear glasses. No longer eligible to be a pilot. Leadership educated? I went back to my hometown school.

I played for the Falcons and that team made it to the Sugar Bowl. I then played with a NAIA National Champ -Texas A&I. Six of the players I played with made the Pro Bowl during their careers.

After getting my BA, I attended Law School in Los Angeles for a year and then joined the Army during Viet Nam.

I don't live on attitude or knee jerk pessimism.

Eze looks horrible so far if we're being honest

Yep. This PFF grade is weighting things like his coverage skills which is not something we really care about in a DE. We care about pressures, sacks, and tackling. Now Donavan is getting pressures (15 so far) but he's only converting that into 1 sack. That's only 7%. Joey Bosa also has 15 pressures but he's converted them into 3 sacks which is 20%. Myles Garrett is at 50%. Where EZ is really struggling is tackling which is why he's not converting more pressures. He is literally the worst tackling DE in the NFL.

If you think Ezeiruaku has looked terrible as a rookie you don't know what you're talking about.

I guarantee one thing. Our defense wouldn't be as bad as they are now with Parson's still on the team. People act like they are blind or whatever. With Parson's he was the only real player on the defense which other team feared. Teams probably don't even waste time game planning against our defense this year now lol. It's that bad.

He also has a high pressure rating. Don't know after the Broncos game, but before it, Cowboys were actually near top of league in pressures. Just don't get the sack. Not sure who runs that stat and determines it though.

I guarantee our record would be the same did you not watch Parsons in the 2023 Green Bay game did that look familiar 'cause it looked a lot like the Denver game from Sunday where was Parsons oh that's right on our team where was Parsons when his team gave up 40 points to this Cowboys offense That's right he was on their team oh man the irony of that.

He would just make our defense we'd have something to cheer that's it He would be putting lipstick on a pig that's how bad this defense is miles Garrett is one of the best defenders in the league he's better than Parsons and his team is still getting their butts kicked blowouts he had five sacks and they still got blown out TJ Watts teams keep getting beat Max Crosby's teams still keep getting beat Shall I go on the nose tackles simmons is on what a losing team shall I go on you guys keep thinking this he would add something to the team yes but our record would still be the same and our defense would still be getting beat because there would be so many holes the weaknesses would get targeted they just would go away from him as they have when he was here...

Gonna make sure you understand that spending $47 million or whatever it is it was more than Jerry wanted to spend it was more than I thought he was worth I still think it was the right move he was making that much money on this defense in a losing season never made sense he was on a team last year another losing season sometimes you just have to use the money and the draft picks which we have yet to use and you just have to move forward you can't keep everyone this is the first time Jerry's done it and I still agree with it in hindsight I don't care he doesn't change our record because our defense is that bad we are not one player away and it was the right move...

parsons would have accepted the41M offer From Jerry that would have been fine He pushed it farther he wanted more he demanded a trade and this is not on Jerry Parsons and his agent forced their way off the team not just with demanding more money than they originally were talking more guaranteed money shorter years but the antics the social media stuff the laying on the table his posture and attitude at practice it was horrible he pushed it to a spot where Jerry finally had enough and I get it Jerry's part of the problem you're not convincing me that we are better team this year meaning the record the losses still would have been losses.. .

Yes Remember how pressures count 'cause I just all they talk about is the pressure leader and Micah Parsons our team has been getting pressure but they're not getting home enough They literally face quarterbacks who are not scared of them so they're not running out of pocket I saw lots of quarterbacks this year just stand there even surrounded like didn't have much room at all to throw but they just stood there and waited for someone to get open which was like three and a half seconds sometimes four seconds standing back there without getting touched so yeah the pressure is there but most of them are not taking off and running because they're not respecting our defense at all they know if they just wait an extra second whether they get pushed down or bumped into they're going to get a big playoff..

I said this above. He has 15 pressures which is top 20 in the league, but he's converted them into only 1 sack. His problem is tackling. If he could tackle he would have 5 or 6 sacks easy. He's needs to hit the gym in the offseason.
