Prior to the 2008 Olympic team. A bunch of talented individuals who couldn't play as a team. More worried about "me" highlights than team goals. This sums up the current Dallas Cowboys. It won't change until a head coach is brought in to put players in their place and Jerry changes to allow him to do it. Wade is a great DC coach, but he is not and has never been a HC calibur person. TO has to go, history proves he is not a team player. This is the third team that has had it's locker room divided.

USA basketball brought in Coach K to instill team first goals and it paid off. Let's see what's important to Jerry?

What does TO do that is not a team player? I don't know where you people get the idea that he is not a team player. Hell, some of you really need to start questioning Romo's work ethic. TO's work ethic is not in question.

I don't think anyone questions his work ethic as far as training hard to play the game. But you can't argue the fact that if he doesn't get the ball he blows up. He cares more about stats and highlights of himself than the team, always has, always will. He is not a team first guy. I think that is clear to everyone in the league.

Pretty good analogy. I remember that 2004 team that showed that a TEAM of goofy looking greek guys was better than a GROUP full of NBA divas.

I'm not quite sure that they are exactly like the pre-2008 USA basketball teams. They were pretty brutal to watch and for some reason Larry Brown thought Stephon Marbury was a stud and kept Carmelo (their only shooting threat) and Lebron on the bench. And yes, I detest Larry Brown.

I think where the similarities begin is that both teams got distracted too much, they seemed to think that because they are USA basketball or that they were the Cowboys, that it made them automatically better than the rest of the teams and their opponents would just roll over for them. The Cowboys weren't nearly as bad as Team USA because a lot of the problems were due to Romo getting hurt and then crapping the bed after coming back from injury. But a pretty darn good analogy.

You know, I think this analogy is a little TOO simple. Yes, the subsequnt Dream Teams were notably poor because they were 12 guys thrown together and not a team, but there was also a very substantial change in basketball that occurred. Namely, the NBA stars chosen came from a one-on-one isolation culture of brekaing down from the dribble and attacking the rim, whereas the international game was emphasizing shooting and passing. With the expanded lane and different rules, international ball exposed the one dimensional nature of the Dream Teamers - spectacular dunkers who were also ball stoppers who couldn't shoot a lick. Hence, we started getting scorched by teams like Spain or Argentina where they had guys who chould shoot from all over and pass like crazy. I don't think that dynamic fits the Cowboys, since the game didn't fundamentally change. Though it could be argued we don't play fundamentally sound ball at times...

I agree, T.O. is the ultimate team player, always has been, I can't imagine why anyone would say otherwise!

Last time I checked Romo has to spend 10-15 seconds of the play clock telling his WRs where to line up and telling his O-line who to block!

I don't know why everyone faults TO for complaining for not getting the ball. TO is the best playmaker on our offense. If he doesn't get the ball and we lose, he should be pissed. I want a WR who wants the ball in crunch time. The man works hard and has crazy work ethic.

I don't know why everyone blames TO. Garrett for some unknown reason didn't put him in motion this year and has Tony pass 30+ times a game with Barber, Jones, and Choice to run the ball.

TO doesn't complain if we win. There is not one WR I'd rather have on my team right now than TO. Period.

My only issue with Owens is that it seems that part of the managment of him, includes forcing the ball to him out of fear that he's gonna snap...and in doing so, it knocks the offense out of sync at times.

That's my only issue with him.

Perhaps Romo needs to work on his game instead of work on being a celebrity. To many things are coming out that Romo's work ethic this year has been substandard.

It may be hard to believe with how he plays sometimes, but Romo works on his game plenty. He just needs to develop or maybe he's just not the next Peyton Manning like we'd all like him to be.

I wouldn't say Romo has the kind of coaching right now to help him get to the next level.
