Cowboys Face Another Test In Atlanta
http://profootballtalkline.com/nfl/...10422/cowboys-face-another-test-atlanta.html/

In the crucial five game stretch coming out of the bye week, the Atlanta Falcons are next up for the Dallas Cowboys. Three straight wins is nice, but another big game awaits Dallas this week. Beating the Falcons in Atlanta would have a cumulative effect on the playoff push for the Cowboys, but there are challenges to winning this game.

First and foremost, the health and availability of the Cowboys is in question. It was a big win against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it came at a cost. Dez Bryant and Tyron Smith didn’t practice Wednesday, and Terrance Williams is banged up as well. All three are likely to be questionable this week and if they do go, they could be playing at less than 100%. They could also be without Ezekiel Elliott, whose fate rests in the hands of the courts once again. Those are four big names that might not be able to suit up and it would especially hurt if Smith and Zeke cannot go. The Cowboys proved they could win without Bryant last season, but if they are without Dez and Williams as well, it could be an issue.

The good news, however, is that the Cowboys have a stable full of runners and all of them can play. The better news is that Dak Prescott will be playing and he is the most important piece of the puzzle. Even without all of these players, Dallas will fight with the guys they have and the team still can beat the Falcons as long as Dak is in the lineup. Atlanta is 4-4 and their season in on the brink of slipping away. They will be at home and playing as a desperate group, that’s a dangerous combination. The Cowboys will have to continue to play their best football in order to beat the current NFC Champions. The Falcons boast an offense with dangerous weapons and the quarterback who can help the unit explode at any minute; it will be a tough task for Dallas’ defense to shut them down...

Ballpark issue at hand: The Cowboys put themselves in a position to make every game a big one; the game against Atlanta may determine if they are in the NFC East race or just another average team in the wild card hunt. * (from the above article)

The second of the big four game stretch...and whether this group misses destiny or not.

Atlanta averages 22 points a game, Dallas runs around 28 per game, the many variables could easily come into play in this one,,,but I'd place my pennies on Dallas this year, safe money would've been on Atlanta last year.

This is a hard game to evaluate and usually i have no respect for atlanta and they prove me right. Heres my big problem, the NFL has a whole. the year has proven its up and down week to week. If Garrett does lose this one, im not blaming him. I would if he earned it (ok he might during the game but that changes everyhing) but i cant lay the whole blame at his feet. The league has proven no one is dominate and each win or loss is coming down to a roll of dice.

To his discredit tho he didnt plan for EE being suspended, i would have played DMC some more, or at least Smith. So DMC has to start cold. I dont even know if Rod is up for this challenge, depending on which Jones shows up, usually hes not a problem and the game doesnt come down to him personally beating us, but anything is possible in todays game. I cant even say the year is on the line for this game or even if it matters all that much.

The only thing that matters more to me right now is if the rookies get enough time for next year and what happens in the off season. this year is more flukey that anyone guessed so heck except for a few teams, most every team is still in it. Lose today and rip off a few more wins and that will still be enough. And Atlanta is not a test for anyone.
