Cowboys fan AND Football fan or just a Cowboys fan?

I use to be a fan of both... but the NFL and everything around it became less about the game and more about money and the dog and pony show... Also it is such a lesser product as teams use to stay together.

I'm a cowboy fan now not so much a fan of the nfl and I don't watch when the cowboys are not playing life is far too short. I could use that time to help the kids with homework or doing a project that needs doing...

now having said that I will watch a College, High School, Pop Warner football game gladly and do so when I have time but I won't make the time to like I will a Cowboy game.

I WONT miss any cowboys games, but I'll miss some other games here n there. I dont like anything related to college. closest thing to college for me would probably be the NFL draft.

So personally I have to admit I suck at knowing wut players coming out of college are any good. I just like to read and see wut most of you experts say and try to learn a bit.

Just had a quick question for some of the board members, I was talking to one of my friends and somehow the topic came up about how most people that we knew only followed their favorite teams. Do you guys find yourselves watching football all day on sunday? or do you guys only watch the dallas cowboys and maybe a game here and there? I know not everyone has NFL Sunday ticket, but do you guys find yourselves watching all of the games that are televised in your area?

I know outside of just getting a small sample size, this post does not really accomplish anything. Hopefully this thread does not start into a I watch more football than you watch type of deal. I was just curious to know what most of you guys do.

I am definitely both. I watch as many games as I can and can never get enough football. I am first and foremost a Cowboys fan but I also like some other teams for various reasons, usually because of players they had or have.

dallas Cowboys fan only. If or when the cowboys are no longer playing or are out of playoff contention I just glanze at the scores and highlights. But I really dont care what happens. I'll probably pull for the cards to do well but that's about it.

I don't watch other football games unless the results have something to do with the Cowboys.

Watching the Cowboys every week for 4 hours and then adding other NFC East games or the occasional huge matchup of NFL powers, eats up enough of my time.

I'm also a St. Louis Cardinals fan in baseball...same thing...the idea of actually sitting through a baseball game that doesn't involve the Cardinals seems like an incredible waste of time in a relatively short life span.

more of a cowboy fan than a football fan (as far as watching). I do watch the playoffs and the superbowl...I used to watch cleveland as well (2nd fav team in 80s early 90's) but once they moved to baltimore, and recreated the team, it just wasnt the same.

With the Ticket, I watch the 'Boys' games in there entirety and flip thru other games. I normally watch the the Redzone Channel when they switch games up depending on teams threatening to score or the Mix channel when they show up to 8 games on the same screen. Sunday & Monday nites it depends on the matchup (w/ Mon nites on mute b/c I cannot stand their announcers  )!

I'm both. THe Cowboys are my team, the one I really want to see win, but I watch any and all football that is on TV on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and the occassional odd games that will be on some different night for whatever reason.

I love watching football. The Cowboys just happen to be my favorite team. :)

I am also a fan of the game. I played flag football growing up, and two-hand-touch football during recesses in grade school and middle school, and played organized tackle football for my school in the city conference in High School, where I -really- learned the nuts and bolts and terminology of the game and what to watch for...After high school my appreciation for the game grew tremendously, partly because I knew what to watch for - How the battle on the line of scrimmage developed, how the offense's blocking scheme played out against the defense, how the defense tried to contain the offense by positioning and zone or man coverage - I learned to appreciate watching my team on defense as much as watching it on offense.

All through that time I've been a fan of the Cowboys foremost but have also gained an appreciation for the Packers. These are the two teams I watch the most but I will watch any game thats on.

Now I admit that I am much less interested in a game if a team I don't like or am not interested in (due to not having a player I like to watch or not being an interesting divisional matchup, etc) that I will multitask durign the game - So for instance I may be on the computer playing a videogame or surfing the web or working out while the game on TV is more like a background noise/thing for me to checkup on every few minutes.

I was a big fan of NFL-Europe and am growing to appreciate the CFL now. When it comes to NCAA ball it's all about the Wisconsin Badgers baby!

I'm a huge football fan--college and pro. But I will not waste my life watching the game on tv every entire weekend. I always watch the 'Boys and then usually tivo a couple of other games (pro 1st and college second unless it is one of my alma maters) to watch when I find the time.

Came from a football family with multigenerations of coaches and players.

I'm a football fan with favorites at the high school (Bastrop [LA] High | Go RAMS!), college (L-S-U!!!) and NFL (don't even think of asking which) levels. That doesn't stop me from enjoying the game played by other schools and teams, but it does keep me centered on the only teams which matter most to me.

first and foremost a glasgow celtic fan, will also watch any old game of football (soccer)
in terms of nfl i watch every cowboys game and will occasionaly watch other games but won't go out my way to watch them like i will if the cowboys are playing so don't tend to see too many of them other than the superbowl. tend to only miss the cowboys (due to the time difference) if they're playing the early game on sunday and i've not got back from the either the pub or whatever stadium in scotland we're playing at watching the celtic game. will also watch pretty much any sport that comes on the tv with the exception of baseball which i've never got into.

I watch all day, but I can only really watch the NFL for any length of time.

Watching college football is like pulling teeth for me. Too much crappy play and some moronic coaching covered by colleges that can recruit.
Statistically college is hard to predict. It's just a mess for me. Plus, I'm a Syracuse fan and well...that's no fun right now.

YAKUZA

My only caveat is if the Cowboys win, I can watch the NFL all day.

The College game has changed too dramatically for me since I've played. The spread, imo, has ruined college football and the lack of a playoff structure makes it even worse.

I do still like High school football, but even it's starting to mimic some of the worst qualities of the College game.
