I've had the opportunity to go to a good amount of games at Texas Stadium and the very first at the new stadium (Titans). Phenomenal experience to say the least, but I have been to college games that were louder. Im not even talking big school colleges.

I was at the Cowboys/Patriots game in 2007. Both teams undefeated. Possible Super Bowl preview at the time.

When the Cowboys were on offense everyone was cheering as loud as possible and you could hear crickets when they were on D. This makes no sense. I really wish they had more crowd control. I really hope the new screen gives better instruction to novice fans as when to cheer and when to have silence.

This could be a huge advantage for us this Sunday, or a huge waste if we don't use it properly.

Feel free to chime in. The loudest game Ive ever been to was a RICE @ UTEP game. Say what you will about how lousy these teams are, but when UTEP was on offense it was quiet. When UTEP was on D it was insanely loud! I mean stomping on the benches and yelling/whistling/clapping stadium wide loud. Its not even a dome out here and it was way louder than any Cowboys game I have ever been to.

Spread the word to anyone being there on Sunday.

BE CRAZY LOUD WHEN COWBOYS ARE ON DEFENSE.

LET ROMO TALK TO HIS TEAM WHEN HE IS ON OFFENSE.

No NFL game is ever going to have the noise/atmosphere of college football.

True. I went to the SB 1st meeting between Dallas vs Pitt at the orange bowl and I have went to the National Championship game Miami vs Alabama and by far the National Championship game was the loudest.

I would think that the video board should have the Noise/Quite thing going. Would make sense to me.

yea tonight.

I have been working on a documentary style video of the cowboys giants rivalry, and I was planning all along to have it done for this week and then go on with dc during this week to talk about the rivalry...

unfortunately I couldnt get the video done in time for this game, It will be done for the december rematch.

I am looking forward to talking about this rivalry with Dc and everyone tonight. I am so excited about this game I can barely sit down!

It never appears to be loud there on TV. You can watch other games and see the obvious problems opposing offenses have audibling but you never saw that in Texas Stadium.

Even in broadcasts the crowd doesnt seem very hype. The big screen wont help but hopefully the numbers will increase that Sunday night.

Here is hoping for that. I "hate" the Gnats" too...:star:

Whatever it is it is dumb. This has always irked me. Everyone's fan base knows that you get loud to drown out the opposing QB and cause confusion, but our fans cheer our offense and get silent on defense. It is annoying and just plain weird.

They need to have a 60 yard high-def sign that says NOISE!!! when Elisha breaks the huddle on Sunday night.

God I hate this urban myth. I have been to MANY home games in Texas Stadium and its as loud as anywhere else I have been which includes Oakland, Palo Alto, and LA (both Rams & Raiders).

It seems to me that the same people perpetuating this myth are the same ones who immediately jump on anyone who gets mad at a bad defensive half, and states their opinion on the matter.

I wish I could fathom what the motive here is. Do they think they can somehow eliminate all fans except themselves for some sort of exclusivity deal? Do they just not like people from Dallas? Who knows, but its very annoying.

they should just tell people to cheer or be quiet on the big screen.

Problem solved.

The issue, in my estimation, is not so much the noise level, but the lunacy of Dallas fans cheering loudly when our offense is communicating at the line, but when the opposition is in the huddle? Crickets. This drives me nuts. It is just unfathomable to me that people don't understand how backward this is.

My thanks to the OP for bringing (additional) attention to this.

I was at the Cowboys / Patriots game also...I do not remember it being that way at all.....Loud when they had the ball, not as loud when we had it.

I will be at the game Sunday night.....I will do my part.

So your saying its not loud when the other team has the ball? Interesting, please give examples of which games you were at where this occured and which section you were in.

I was at the 49ers preseason game. This exact thing was happening before my eyes. I was in section 449 i believe. Granted it was a preseason game and will be different for the home opener. But to see the wrong mentality these fans had was perplexing. I have been to 3 real games and haven’t been impressed with the noise level. I used to go to old Houston Astros games at the Astrodome...that place would get loud.

Interesting. I am curious if you saw the attendance and heard the crowds at some of the other stadiums around the nfl this preseason, like say a half empty giants stadium.

The stadium has been as good as any other in the league for the last 5 years or so and I will debate that with anyone.
