Interesting. I am curious if you saw the attendance and heard the crowds at some of the other stadiums around the nfl this preseason, like say a half empty giants stadium.

The stadium has been as good as any other in the league for the last 5 years or so and I will debate that with anyone.

I haven’t been to any other stadiums to compare. But i saw Cowboy fans cheering when the Dallas Offense was near the endzone. During the Defense, i was the only one yelling many times...i felt out of place, i felt like an odd ball. It was preseason, so not sure it’s a big deal yet.

fair enough. The crowd does cheer on offense. I have said why many times, at least why I think.

But the crowds have been very good at the stadium since 05.

In comparison to all these other cities that I constantly read about having such great crowds, its ally perception.

KC is supposed to be this college atmosphere and they had 20,000 people at their last home game last year....Thats insane.

Texas stadium was very small. Giants stadium and the Commanders stadium have over 20 to 30k more fans in the building.

The only stadium I have been in that has been louder was buffalo in the early 90s, but again they had 82000 before the renovation. Having 20k more fans equals noise, especially with a superbowl team.

I have been to a jets and a giants game in the meadowlands in years where they were not good and it was quiet and by the 4th qtr fans were checking out.

its all perception.

That’s cool that you have been able to visit those other stadiums. What about Quest or Heinz Field? Will be interesting to see how loud this new stadium can get.

If we put Randy White on the big board, and had him tell everyone to shut up (while we are on offense), would it help?

According to John Madden, Cowboy fans are quite knowledgeable, and possess a keen sense of when to cheer and when not to.

Texas stadium was one of the smallest stadiums in the league. hopefully the extra 40,000 people will make a difference in this one.

They need that cool deep voice when Sheli walks out to go... "Make some noiiiiiiissseeeee!!!!", then it becomes so loud that Sheli cant hear Brandon telling him that he's scared.

but when UTEP was on offense it was quiet. When UTEP was on D it was insanely loud! I mean stomping on the benches and yelling/whistling/clapping stadium wide loud.

That's understandable, Messakins are very rowdy. You oughta hear 'em in the parking lot of my apartment complex when they get a snoot-full of "Meeeal_her lite" and the Cahunto music going.

So your saying its not loud when the other team has the ball? Interesting, please give examples of which games you were at where this occured and which section you were in.

I have been to 8-9 games in the last five years and noticed it every time.
I did not say it was not loud when the other team has the ball. I said it was not loud while they were in the huddle. The crowd gets loud when right before the snap, rather than while the opposition is trying to communicate.
And I said that Dallas fans cheer when Dallas is in the huddle and at the line.
Crazy...

fwiw, I sit where I can get tickets, so I have tickets on the 50, the 20, and usually in the endzone.

EDIT: When you see QB's from Danny White, to Troy Aikman, to Tony Romo (as recently as the Tennessee game) waving for the crowd to shut up, that is a problem...

I have said there are times when some fans make noise on offense, Its usually early and late. And without getting long winded, I believe it is because there are a ton of fans that come from out of town to go to the games each week and they are all star struck by the offense. that is why it is usually early and late.

there is a buzz in the building when romo is under center and many are yelling things like go get em and just simply screaming etc...and it is always early on the first posession and late if its close.

Its not near a problem that you are making it out to be.

Not sure when you started posting again...I'd assume it was when the political zone was removed as I've been AWOL quite a bit lately myself...

...but welcome back.

I've had the opportunity to go to a good amount of games at Texas Stadium and the very first at the new stadium (Titans). Phenomenal experience to say the least, but I have been to college games that were louder. Im not even talking big school colleges.

I was at the Cowboys/Patriots game in 2007. Both teams undefeated. Possible Super Bowl preview at the time.

When the Cowboys were on offense everyone was cheering as loud as possible and you could hear crickets when they were on D. This makes no sense. I really wish they had more crowd control. I really hope the new screen gives better instruction to novice fans as when to cheer and when to have silence.

This could be a huge advantage for us this Sunday, or a huge waste if we don't use it properly.

Feel free to chime in. The loudest game Ive ever been to was a RICE @ UTEP game. Say what you will about how lousy these teams are, but when UTEP was on offense it was quiet. When UTEP was on D it was insanely loud! I mean stomping on the benches and yelling/whistling/clapping stadium wide loud. Its not even a dome out here and it was way louder than any Cowboys game I have ever been to.

Spread the word to anyone being there on Sunday.

BE CRAZY LOUD WHEN COWBOYS ARE ON DEFENSE.

LET ROMO TALK TO HIS TEAM WHEN HE IS ON OFFENSE.
The only place you really see/hear this is in Indianapolis. Thems some smart fans up there.

I was there for that Pats game, I know what your'e talking about.

As for UTEP..should have been there the 2nd half last weekend against Kansas... crickets on offense...and defense..LOL

I was at the Bucs game, and although the stands were definitely filled with Bucs fans from top to bottom, I have a new respect for the Cowboys fans that attended that game. The Lets Go Cowboys chants and defense cheers in the third quarter got me more pumped to do some cheering in my Bucs season ticket holder section. I did keep it clean, but they didn't like me because I was letting everyone hear it.

I think those of you who are worried about fans being quiet need to realize that twice, the Defense chants on the Bucs videoboards weren't started at all. And I let the fans around me know that!
