You have been warned.

The Giants ventured into hostile territory in Philadelphia two weeks ago, and so did their fans.

Lou Scalise Jr., wearing a Jeremy Shockey jersey, and his father, in a Tiki Barber jersey, were among the Giant faithful at Lincoln Financial Field on Sept. 17. Lou Jr. said they were “taunted, cursed and even spit at during the game by Eagles fans.”

Michael Martocci, the vice president of Big Blue Travel in Manhattan, which arranged a bus trip for 72 Giants fans, including the Scalises, said: “Every year, the abuse we take from those animals in Philadelphia gets worse and worse. I’m seriously considering having two armed guards sit with us next year.”

The abuse only escalated as the group filed out after the Giants rallied for an overtime victory against the Eagles, the Giants fans said. Scalise, 21, of Copiague, N.Y., said he was pushed from behind several times on a stadium ramp. When Scalise turned around, he said, a man about 6 feet tall and 230 pounds, wearing an Eagles T-shirt and cap, punched him in the nose.

“We were holding the guy and calling for security,” said Robert Anderson, a retired New York City police detective who was part of the group. “But other Eagles fan came down the ramp and started swinging at us. When we went to protect ourselves, the guy who threw the first punch got away.”

Although he did not see the first punch, Lou Scalise Sr. said he turned “to see my son’s face filled with blood.”

The younger Scalise, who is 5-9 and 175 pounds, said: “Those people in Philadelphia are the most classless fans in the world. They’re just a bunch of drunks looking for trouble. I’ll never go back there again.”

In a separate incident that day, according to The Daily News, David Lee and Christian Perez, a reporter and a cameraman for SNY, the Mets’ network, were cursed and had bagels thrown at them when they arrived at the stadium in a SNY truck. After the game, they returned to the parking lot to find part of the network’s logo scraped off the truck, a side mirror ripped off, the rear windshield wiper bent and a tire slashed. The vehicle reeked of beer and urine.

“The stuff that goes on in Philadelphia makes the Meadowlands look like ‘Romper Room,’ ” Lou Scalise Sr. said.

Bonnie Grant, the communications director for the Eagles, confirmed that the younger Scalise had filed a medical report, but said no security report was filed.

“There is no security report, so we have an absence of information to even verify what he is saying,” Grant said. “In addition, no one from that travel group has contacted us.”

Lou Scalise Sr. said that after he and his son completed the medical report, they were told by security officers that the team would contact them.

“We’re still waiting for that phone call,” he said.

Martocci recalled that Philadelphia once expedited disorderly conduct cases during football games at a makeshift municipal court in the basement of Veterans Stadium, which Lincoln Financial Field replaced.

“They needed that courtroom because they can’t manage or govern their own people,” Martocci said.

Michael Irvin, who won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990’s, listed Philadelphia, Oakland and New Orleans as the rowdiest stadiums he ever played in.

“Philly was just a horrible place to play,” Irvin said. “They’re still cursing me out whenever they see me, and I retired more than six years ago.”

Irvin also said, “Raider fans like to paint their faces and pretend to be crazy; Eagles fans really are crazy.”

Martocci, who has accompanied fellow Giants fans around the country since 1990, said that no stadium came close to Philadelphia’s.

“It’s sad,” he said, “because it takes the whole enjoyment out of going to a game.”

This my friends is why I want the Cowboys to kick the Eagles' booty. I hate Filthadelphia fans. They have no class. Of course I'm generalizing here, but there are many a story. There is no greater pleasure than to see the looks on the Eagle fans after a loss. The difference between the Commanders and Eagles for me are as follows:

Commanders: I hate the team for rivalry purposes

Eagles: I hate the fans

I only worry that if the Cowboys go into the Linc and lay an ***-beating on the Eagles, which is a very real possibility as far as I'm concerned, the fans are going to lose it. Philthy fans have too much emotionally invested into this game to settle for anything less than a win. Once the Cowboys go up and victory is in sight, expect to see projectiles thrown onto the field, towards the Cowboy bench, and towards Cowboy fans in the seats. It may get very ugly.

All I know is if I were a Cowboy fan going to this game, I would wear no gear and do my best to contain my mirth whenever the Cowboys do good.

Cowboys fans going to support the Boyz on the road in Philly is commendable but nevertheless an exercise in masochism. Nothing wrong with passionate good natured ribbing amongst fans but Eagles fans spitting and beating up opposing fans is low class and sick.

You spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars going to a game like this, only to end up being ridiculed, abused and even brutalized. It is not worth it and even if the Boyz won how could you savor it. The irony and reality is football players on the field are protected and well paid to take abuse. But fans are not paid, all they get is psychological income. And is there an NFL fund to assist victimized fans?

For this exercise in self-indulgence that can easily go wrong in Philadelphia an opposing fan of the Eagles can end up going to the doctor, hospital, lose his job and possibly even his marriage.

Is it really worth going over to that sewage treatment plant of a stadium when you can express your support unbridled watching the game at home with friends or family or at a sports bar? I believe in risk - based on substance of value or need, but going to a football game in Philly is crazy.

Nevertheless, the best to all our Cowboy fan brethren who venture into the biggest colon in the NFL.

This is as crazy and hyped as I have seen a city in three decades, and that includes both of their Superbowl appearances. Unlike other games, this time I hear fans talking outright about planned violent acts. Really, the police should be getting involved NOW. They won't, though.

Those of you going to the game (I couldn't get a reasonably priced ticket), take care of yourself.

One of these days it'll get completely out of hand and the NFL and the Eagles will have a major league lawsuit on their hands. They're living on borrowed time before something bad happens.

Danny Noonan said years ago that New Orleans was the "armpit" of America. I agree with him. And I'd say that Philly is America's @$$. What a miserable city. To those who live there, I hope you're not offended, but for the most part, your city is a hellhole.

That may have been your best post ever, Wraith. :)

It makes you wish an opposiong fan could sneak a machete in there. Let's see how tough those guys would be then.

I seriously don't see why the NFL itself doesn't do something about this problem. It's a huge black eye on the league itself when fans have to be worried about their personal safety at a game.

Yeah, I agree. This is the Eagles Super Bowl, so if the Cowboys do manage to beat them, things could get ugly.

Good luck to everyone brave enough to wear their Cowboys gear at this one. Stay safe.

The solution: the NFL should move the Eagles out of Philidelphia to Los Angeles or some other venue. Then its rowdy citizens can practice their brotherly love at basketball games instead.

yo - phoenix talon - got a good excuse for this? can you show me a story of a Commander fan punching someone for no reason whatsoever after a FREAKING GAME??? YOU claimed the skins were worse - so show us. every time you said i needed to speak with less "fandom" and more honesty.

where do you go when i do that? where are you when we see these stories? hoov - wanna defend the poor picked on philadelphians?

there is no excuse for this - and i wish to god the jackwipes who think violence is an answer to losing a game were took out back and given to "bubba" for 10 minutes for every punch they thew at an innocent fan. you wanna fight - let's go. let's do it right and even make it a pay-per-view w/an adult varation cause we pulled "bubba" out of maximum security and he's used to this type of behavior.

wonder how "tough" they'd be then? god this makes me mad.

Eh, I lived and worked in Philadelphia for two years. I live in Atlanta now, but if work and job conspired to take me and my family back here, we'd be in Philadelphia in an instant.

Like many big cities Philadelphia is a patchwork quilt. There are terrific spots lying within a block of a slum. It's up to you to find the good spots and avoid the bad ones.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself the two years I was there. It's a very cosmopolitan city with lots of things to do. And unlike the vast majority of cities in the South, you can easily walk the downtown of Philadelphia. There are plenty of parks and an amazing amount of wildlife within the city limits. I've seen rabbits crossing streets and raccoons digging in garbage cans along 40th street.

If you don't know what you're talking about, you need to **** about the city. The Iggles fans, they may be rough and raw but the city itself is often very very nice.

David.

Do you really expect him to be around here during all this? He don't want to see it or hear it....I'm sure he's got his eyes tightly closed and his hands covering his ears! As a matter of fact, he's been absent from here for a few days now, HOWEVER, I guarantee you...if the eagles win this game, you will get sick and tired of him being around here....!

He's been doing the same thing for years during all the 5-11 Cowboy seasons with his "bring it"..."get some"...posting full screen images of eagle players and other annoying stuff, but, now that the table is turning he don't want to hear nothing bad about his team or his "fandoms" .

Again, like I said, he's absent as of now...but, if the Cowboys lose this game...watch him...

you lose a lot of credibility if you can't even stay around to back up the things you say. even if wrong, see it through and adjust/learn along the way.

or you can be an eagles fan and just run/hide and go NO WAY!!! a lot.

I've lived within 20 min of Philthy my whole life.

What you guys may or may not understand is that the whole problem with eagle fans comes down to 2 things:

1. drunken, miserable, low class, gang mentality
2. entitlement to #1 b/c you are a fan of an eternal losing franchise

That about sums it up. Those folks would never do the things they do if they were by themselves. They are unhappy they suck and take it upon themselves to cause problems when in the company of their fellow drunken, losing brethren... that and they take pride in the fact that opposing fans are afraid to go see a game at their stadium, so they go out of their way to stalk others in groups and create trouble.

They are truly the "scum" of NFL fans, which is why there is NO team that i enjoy laying an *** - whippin on more than the philthy egglets.

I hope we kick their collective ***** like 42-3.

I think what makes it worse is the romanticized, politically correct, descriptions they get from the media. "oh those philly fans are real tough and passionate about their team,,, they booed Santa Claus, they throw batteries, ha ha ha." People like that are cowardly SOBs just like Haynesworth and they need to be called on it if they act like criminals, otherwise they feel like it's their right and obligation to act like that.

I went to the oakland game, in oakland last year. I Wore my Cowboy gear and paid for it. Curse words, threats, and so.

I'd do the same in Philly.

It's a game, and the fans are a part of it. You go into another teams stadium and represent with your teams colors, you need to expect to be cursed at, threatened, and showered with beer(in a few stadiums).

Some people say thats a stupid thing to do, but I believe in standing up for what you beleive in. Even if it's just a game....I love my Dallas Cowboys and nobody is going to punk me out of representing. You may find that after the game you have earned the respect of opposing teams fans for going into a hostile environment wearing your teams colors.
