LOL...…….teams have holes, but some have less then others. And the players in those holes vary in degrees of horror.

Your only as good as your weakest links. Dallas has some monster holes that are filled with special teams fodder.

What monster holes do we have? Every team in the league has a starter as bad whoever you want to point to—Heath, Witten, etc.

We really don’t have massive holes. On top of that, we have as much high end talent as anyone in the league.

The O-Line and it's health going forward is a huge question mark. Our D-Line is not good. Our safeties are scrubs.

Yes, we have holes. Some of which are major, especially the middle of the defensive line.

Our starting Oline is great. We also have quality backups in Fleming and Looney, who can play all 5 spots between them.

DL isn’t great, but it’s solid. We signed a rotation guy with upside and will likely address it again in FA and during the draft.

Our Safeties were fine last year. Not great, and Stephen said it’s out biggest need, but Woods and Heath aren’t the disasters that they’re painted to be. It’s also very likely that we draft one in the 2nd or 3rd.

Do this exercise with any team in the league. We match up with anyone.

What part of the health of our o-line being a huge question mark don't you understand? And Looney and Fleming are backups for a reason.

No, our D-Line has one legit pass rusher and Crawford. The rest are JAGs and scrubs. Our safeties WERE NOT "fine" last year. Jeff Heath was ranked #81st out of all safeties and had 21 missed tackles while Xavier Woods was ranked #46. This is not "solid" - they are combined bottom tier safety duo in the league.

Downplaying the safety and DT position like these aren't major holes is why our defense never goes over the top.

Don't worry about our DL. We're going to sign Suh to a one year deal and trade up in the draft to get DT Quinnen Williams. There, see how easy that was?

Sadly, both Jerry and Stephen will need to start valuing the position before any of that happens.

But sure as heck will give up a valuable draft pick for a WR. Gave up two first round picks for WRs since 2010.

Oh I know. I'd offer the Jets our first in 2020 and Tank for their pick. Maybe Gregory comes back and Taco steps it up, who knows? But I highly doubt the Jets accept that offer anyway.

What part of “we have great starters and quality depth” don’t you understand? We have one of the very best offensive line situations in the league. If you’re going to complain about that...

We have Tank, Crawford, Collins, and Woods, who were all solid, at worst. Yes, Taco hasn’t been good and it sucks that we lost Gregory and Irving. RDE needs to be addressed. We added Covington at the 3T and likely need another 1T, still. Yes, it needs work. And it appears they know that and are working on it.

Safety is our biggest hole, and they’ve said that. We’re going to address it.

We have one position group that is well below average. Now do this with another team outside of LAR. Literally every team is relying on at least a couple Woods/Heath level starters.

With these guys starting last year, we had a middle of the pack offensive line. Our guys are getting a year older, Collins may not be around much longer. Telling me we are good at offensive line because two backups played average is not a good sign - our RT is not good, he's average to below average. Our LG position is not good. Fred may never be the same. Smith played better than most claim here, but who knows about his back. Again, telling me we have "depth" is not a good argument - those players are not full-time starters. Thus, there is a hole there and our O-Line will swiftly become a problem.

LOL Tank couldn't even get a starting job yet, started 7 games in his career. Collins is terrible, ranked #95 out of all DTs in the league. Collins is not "solid" - again, you seem to view below average as "Solid", I do not. Stop glorifying mediocrity.

So, I will repeat - our O-Line is a mess and the future is not bright. We have a massive hole you're trying to downplay by propping up two scrub DTs, and both safety positions need an upgrade. Oh, it gets better, we don't ever actually value and upgrade the DT and safety position - it's going on a decade since we've had an all-pro at those positions. Ratliff was the last one in 2009.

And LOL at addressing the safety position and getting a stud when we don't have a first round pick - we sure have been hitting on those 5th round safeties.

I do i believe Rosen IS much better than Dak...alot of people thought Goff was a bust after his 1st year too, both played on very bad teams their 1st seasons in the league, unlike Dak. Talking about conjecture what do you base your opinion that Rosen is an injury waiting to happen? Did he get hurt last season? or is that just your opinion? maybe you should precede your statement about Rosen w/"I think" or "IMO"

I can't even take you seriously, with you complaining about the offensive line. You sound a little fussy.

Smith and Frederick are All-pro players with health concerns, locked into big contracts. To address that, we put quality depth behind them. That's the only option we have. We can't replace them and can't we afford to invest more premium assets in the line.

LG is not garbage. WIlliams is very likely to improve, and if he doesn't, Looney will be just fine.

Tank could get a starting job yet and has started 7 games in his career? I don't know what you're talking about.

Collins played out of position often and was hurt last year. When he's healthy, he's a solid 3T.

Xavier Woods is a quality young player.

I agree that Heath should be upgraded and that we need RDE competition and DT depth. FA isn't over and the draft is coming up.

But again, you could to this with just about any team in the league - and all but 5 or so have a lot more holes than we do.

they are football guys - they been at a quarter century plus - I'll give them that

    * and i respect JJ for being captain of a national champ as a Razorback *
really I do, that's way farther than I ever got

it's just that they aren't near as good at it as we'd like

and I hate to say it, but - they may have the worst problem a FO can have - bad luck - I'm serious about that - look at the last 5 years

    2014 - it was a catch
    2015 - Tony's done
    2016 - Rogers, miracle 3 pointer
2017 - half the OL goes down
2018 - after a brilliant season as a new D play caller - Kris goes brain dead and allows 270 on the ground in a playoff game (what are the odds against that?)

that's kinda weird, perhaps down right jinxed, it's sad to watch - in 2014 and 2016 I think we had the best team ... JJ & Co. need to work on their karma

but hey - even the worst roulette player wins a big one, eventually

    that's what that is

Again, both Smith and Frederick have serious health concerns. LG IS garbage until a LG steps up and plays well - Williams couldn't keep the starting job, and the guy who took it wasn't good. What the heck do you even consider bad? LOL

Tank has not had a starting job - he's been depth despite being taken where was in the draft. He has been behind players the first two years. Xavier Woods is ranked outside the top 40 for safeties. Collins is a scrub DT, again, he was horrible last year and a disappointment in 2017. Stop making excuses.

We're done here. Nothing is "Bad" to you and you prop up bum players. LOL A bunch of Jerry Jr. running around on this forum.

Im actually happy with the team overall. But safety and RDE are monster holes. And you combine that with the lack of talent at DT and its starts to get very dicey over on the defensive side. Who are we playing at 3rd linebacker?

On offense we are stacked. Witten helps at the TE position, so its no longer a "monster hole". Backup QB and RB are a concern for me.

Cooper passes the eyeball test for me. His quickness in routes reminds me of Beasley.

For me, the only knock is I don't want to spend top dollar on WRs.
