Now I think that is low but once again we have not a single starter proven to be anyone a OC has to make sure is taken care of on any play. Not like Dware. Of course we wasted Dwares career by never getting anyone else to take the pressure off of him. Or make the OC have to take account of anyone else all the time. Now If we could get about 3-4 really good players that contribute steadily that would be enough to make it work. But right now we only have hope and expectations.

If our front seven only ranks 26th in talent but our run defense is ranked first
that makes Marinelli the best defensive coordinator in the NFL
so there's that

Seems low given the numbers last year and the upgrades this off season.

Frankly what they are ranked on July 13th means NOTHING. This group is going to improve as the year rolls along.

We think they are upgrades and we hope our young talent improves but we will not know until the real games begin.

In my opinion this is only reason Dallas hasn't gone to Super Bowl yet (during Dak & Romo time here). Dallas just has not been good in draft here. They chase dangling carrots. What I mean by that is Randy Gregory & Jaylon Smith were high risk picks in 2nd round. There were several good DL still on board at those spots. Gregory will be lucky is he plays football again and Dallas absolutely thought Jaylon Smith would be 100% by now. All of Philly front four are 1st round picks. The Giants pick explosive DL like their candy or do really well in FA. On other hand Dallas takes years to nail one. I do think they finally got one in Maliek Collins but that needs to happen way more frequently.

I agree with this post.

On the flip side though, I can't be too mad about it. They have selected all pro players on offense in 5 of the last 7 drafts in rd 1.

And of those 5 guys, I'm hard pressed to think of a defensive player I'd want more at the pick in retrospect.
