No, the FO does not deserve credit, for spending a first round pick to clean up the mess they worked hard to force on the players.

The players didnt agree to WRBC, the team didnt say "hey WR is WAY more important than our run game"

etc etc.

Someone does get credit for Richard tho. and Bloom. and props to McClay
Right. If you make a mistake. Ignore it and act like it didn’t happen.

The difference is Cooper has had pro bowl seasons. Watkins has been a bust as a top pick, for whatever reason you want. Certainly not apples and oranges. Watkins has done little in the nfl

That’s just completely bogus.

In 2014, he put up nearly 1,000 yards as a rookie. In 2015, he put up 1,000+ yards and 9 TDs in just 13 games.

Beyond just looking at the stats on a screen, the point of how they’re being utilized by their current teams still stands.

Can't believe I am defending CPT here but alas....

What he is saying is Watkins here would be WR1. He'd have gotten a lot of targets and may well looked far better than he does as option 3 or 4 in KC.
Watkins is almost certainly far superior to Hurns or Thompson or the rookie version o Gallup on the outside.
And DAL would have been out the large salary slot but had a R1 next year.

All that said No, Watkins is not as good as Cooper, so DAL does have the better player tho they fell to 3-5 before it came through.
And you'd have lost a R4 comp pick in the pick exchange.
All in all Cooper looks like the guy you want as he does what Dak likes and gets open.
Watkins was more of a Dez type big body guy.

I’m happy with Cooper over Watkins but it’s really apples-to-oranges comparing the two.
Passer Rating on Prescott's targets
2017
Bryant 71.6
everyone else 92.1

2018
Cooper 123.3
everyone else 92.0

These are only the passes that traveled less than 15 yards in the air:
2017
Bryant 84.2
everyone else 88.8

2018
Cooper 110.7
everyone else 92.4
