It was less than six months ago that Dallas owner Jerry Jones put himself on notice as GM of the Cowboys, saying he would have fired himself. Well, based on the early returns from this year's NFL draft, Jones once again has cause for self-dismissal.

The Cowboys were the only team to earn a failing grade for their performance in the draft, an effort that included a trade down and the subsequent selection of a player they could have gotten rounds later.

Yahoo Sports is about on-par with the quality of the typical Bleacher Report article. You can draw your own conclusions there as to what I mean by it.

Yahoo sports has paid writers working for them, bleacher report has 15 year olds writing articles.

Ouch, that is rough, I wasn't a fan of our draft, but gave us a c -.
I'm more in line with you. Somewhere in the C range.

None of us will really know for a couple of years though.

I know that. And if they were being paid to the quality of their work they would be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I have heard jason cole on interviews before, and he seems like he knows a little bit about the game, not saying that I agree with this article, but he does get paid for his opinion.

Frederick will start.

We run 2 TE a lot so Escobar will play a lot.

Williams and Randle will both get plenty of snaps.

Wilcox, Webb and Holloman will all be on ST and likely be in some sub packages as well.

Here's Cole's review of Seattle's 2012 draft:

Seattle Seahawks
Picks: OLB Bruce Irvin, ILB Bobby Wagner, QB Russell Wilson, RB Robert Turbin, DT Jaye Howard, LB Korey Toomer, CB Jeremy Lane, SS Winston Guy Jr., DT J.R. Sweezy, DE Greg Scruggs
Grade: D-
Analysis: I have a great deal of respect for the work of John Schneider, but I don't understand this draft. Of eight teams (five of which drafted after the Seahawks) that were surveyed, none graded Irvin as a first-round pick. Yes, he has talent, and he could become great. He also might be a guy who burns out in two years because there are plenty of people who question his dedication. After that, the Seahawks spent a third-round pick on Wilson even though the history of QBs under 6-foot is poor, to say the least. You don't spend a third-round pick on a guy who'll be lucky to be Seneca Wallace. You also don't do that after signing Matt Flynn as a free agent. The Seahawks are no closer to solving the QB situation now than they were before 2011.

(This actually means our 2013 draft was awesome.)

In basketball they are excellent but I don't even bother with the NFL stuff.

It's one analyst's opinion. Would mean the same if he said we had a great draft. Actually, I'd like to take all these negative grades and put them up in the locker room for our guys to see every day.

Point is bleacher report anyone with a modem and a keyboard can write articles for them, yahoo sports is much more reputable source, you may not agree with everything written.

wow Jason Cole? :laugh2:

Well there you have it, Cole has spoken. :laugh2:

His view does not mean squat, not saying he is wrong or write but having a keyboard does not make his an expert one way or the other. Guys jumping out to grade when the end result has yet to be determined
