So basically we're like a suspenseful television series. We're getting a pass rusher, but we're only gonna talk about it for at least 4 seasons before it actually happens.

So, just to get everyone talking - Garrett - out of the question. Barnett - Doubt it, would love if he fell to us - or in range of us, but don't see it. Group of Takk, Taco or Harris - Meh, I guess I could be talked into one of them ... Lawson - now I understand he has a injury history, but I think I might like him better than the previous 3.
Then we get to the 2nd rounder's - Basham - would love. Smoot, Rivers and so on...
Someone tell me why no on Lawson, don't see him mocked to the Cowboys much. If we can't have Barnett, what's wrong with Lawson ?

I'd like to knows reasons why people think Irving could not be a double digit sack guy. Certainly can't be talent related. Effort isn't a question either. Consistent performance should therefore come with experience.

No good reason to not believe. Lots of folks on here just simply refuse to have faith that ANYTHING good will happen. And then when something good DOES happen, their criticism is redirected towards another part of the team or they just move the goalposts. It's a bizarre phenomenon that occurs here at the Zone.

Take 2014 for example. After week 1 this ENTIRE place was filled with "we are the worst team in the league", "blow it up", "fire everyone- coaches and players", etc, etc. Everyone just KNEW how terrible our season would be and stated their opinion as fact. Then, 5 weeks later it's like none of that happened. Then, when we lose in the playoffs those same folks somehow consider the season to be a disappointment because we didn't win the SB or make an appearance in the conference championship. Talk about moving the goalposts.

Not to go off on a tangent, but I guess my point is if Irving gives us solid to "better than good" production this year then many will just move the goalposts anyway.

Apparently it was a nickname given to a WWII tank commander by his crew...

The Real War Daddy – Destroyed 12 Tanks and 258 Armoured Vehicles in 81 Days

World War II saw the emergence of tank Aces who became famous for their incredible milestones at the war front. Among the most widely recognized tank crew and tank platoon commander was the American Ace of Aces, Lafayette G. Pool. Pool killed over 1000 German soldiers and took 250 as war prisoners. Furthermore, he destroyed 12 tanks, 258 armored vehicles, and self-propelled guns. He achieved all these within a period of 81 days, using three different Sherman Tanks from 27th June to 15th September, 1944.

Pool’s successful encounters in the war led him to be nicknamed “War Daddy” by his crew. A movie, ‘Fury’, made to his honor was released in 2014 and was played by Brad Pitt.

So, yeah, I'm hoping you guys don't find a War Daddy for your DLine, too lol...

Did everyone forget the way Marinelli runs his defense? It is a rotation defense to keep fresh rushers, it is not the Parcells defense where a Ware stayed on the field the whole game. Our D-line does not play anywhere near a 100 percent of the defensive snaps in a game. If you want to use Jerry's words (big mistake) of "a" war daddy, it should really "2" war daddies because you really are counting on two guys at a spot (i.e. RDE) to get 12 to 15 sacks a year or more.

Even if we had the opportunity to draft Garrett, he would only play probably at the most 60 percent of the D snaps. Something to think about.
