RT @RavensInsider: Bryant McKinnie update, per source, offers from Chargers, Dolphins; Cowboys have made inquiry about left tackle as well.

“@JD_Cloud_: Bryant McKinnie seems to be doing the rounds as a potential Cowboys target. Who's better fit - McKinnie or Clabo?” Clabo.

.@OnPointNY @polo_prince20 Betcha by the time we get to June 2 we'll learn #Cowboys have 'touched base' w ALL OTs. As they should

Pass on McKinnie. He is the epitome of lazy.

He worked his butt off when inserted in Baltimore's lineup. I suspect that has a lot to do with the Miami connection with Ed Reed, Ray Lewis.

I have little doubt he will return to his lazy, uninspiring ways next year.

Of course, we all recognize his name.

So of course, he'd be a great fit.

Sign him Jerry!

He's older than Clabo so maybe he'd come cheaper? Or at least less guaranteed money?

Just glad the Cowboys are putting out feelers on OL players. I do think the Cowboys will add to the OL this off season.

He played well when Baltimore inserted him as starting LT for their playoff/Superbowl run.

But everywhere he has been he has been labelled as lazy and he doesnt strike me as a player "who loves the game".

If we do have interest, i would keep it to a 1 year offer. Dont offer this guy big money.

Is the source McKinnie's agent?

No, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, Ravens insider, is reporting this.

I'd be tentative. The guy played well in Baltimore but he got a ring, he's got some money...you've got those things, where's the hunger? Deadly mix in my opinion. Depends on the money.

So...does this mean Doug Free's reluctant to take as big a pay cut as we'd like to see? Or are they kicking the tires on a guy who might come cheaper than Clabo to make a point that we've got a low-priced option if DF doesn't take a bigger discount than he was expecting?

Can't say I'd be thrilled with Bryant McKinnie in either case. I'm hoping this is a head-fake.

It seems the Cowboys have talked to all of these players, and it's really coming down to money. Same reason why the Chargers, Titans, and Dolphins haven't coughed up money yet.

Really complex strategy here. Sign with a team first and you almost certainly won't get full value.

I don't think signing a free agent tackle has anything to do with Free's pay cut. He could take a pay cut and maybe try competing at guard for all we know. Don't think that would work out either.

Even if he took the vet minimum he is still about 4 million against the cap this year and next year. He is almost a definite cut come June, regardless of what we do.

He'd be a nice vet swing tackle, but I assume he has better offers on the table.

Compared to what we have now, if we got McKinney for 1-2 yrs and slide Smith over to RT we would have one hell of a line. *Dreaming*

He's not a fit at OG.

I think the team would prefer DF just take a pay cut and become the swing OT. Failing that, they're going to have to release him, take the cap hit, and then replace him on the roster.

It sounds like the Chargers are interested in bringing McKinnie in. I was just wondering if we took the chance to float a rumor to reinforce the point that there are potentially cheaper options out there for us than Clabo.

When I clicked on this thread, I assumed there would be people salivating over signing him.

I didn't imagine someone would actually suggest this, though.

Congrats.

You lowered the bar beyond my wildest imaginations.

I award you two innerwebs.

No, sat out most of TC pouting about being released and re-signed at a lesser amount. He is lazy before the Ravens signed him it was reported he was released by the Vikes because he reported at almost 400lbs
