Bobby Carpenter was better than hill at this point. Overall carpenter played 4 seasons here and at least made a few plays including recovering a fumble in a playoff game. He did a pretty good job in 06 filling in for Gregg Ellis when he was lost at SOLB in that 34.

yes he didnt work out but at least he stuck around for four years and could play decently when asked too, not what you want from a first round player obviously but I would say hill is worse at this point.

Smith out too is a knee in the groin I didn't know about. Another of our second tier WRs out. I expected him to take up some slack for Cobb out.

Now the 2nd tier is Tavon and Wilson. Maybe they'll work in Pollard at slot more because of this.
