For the first time all year, the Cowboys are not listing Tony Romo as “out” on the injury report. Read
After three full days of practice participation, Romo is questionable for Sunday’s game with the Steelers. While rookie Dak Prescott is expected to start his ninth straight game for the Cowboys, the backup situation might be uncertain now. Read
Romo, who suffered a broken bone in his back during the Seattle preseason game back in late August, has been inactive for every game this season. Read
On Friday, head coach Jason Garrett said the team had yet to decide whether Romo would be active for Sunday’s game.

I don't agree with suiting him up and sitting him on the sidelines. If they are hell bent on starting the guy eventually, now is the time. It's time right now because if Dak wheels off another 5 wins, if you pull him then, the fans will rip Romo a new one. And if he loses in the playoffs, wow, you can't imagine what fans will say.

If he is healthy he should be active. That is what gives the Cowboys the best chance to be successful on Sunday. Were Dak to go down we need Romo ready to step in. Not Mark. The number 1 seed is not yet locked up.

A QB that hasn't played a regular season game in a full year and is coming off a broken back doesn't give the Cowboys the best chance to win if Dak goes down vs the Steelers. If they knock Dak out they'll be tasting blood in the water especially if Romo were to come in. Anytime a QB gets knocked out that fires up a defense which intensifies their pass rush. I'm not saying we would have a better chance with Sanchez in that situation but he's completely healthy and has had a lot of work this summer and in practice. If Dak were to go down and we're behind and have to throw the ball I would cringe with Romo back there knowing he hasn't faced a regular season pass rush in a year. Some of you think he's going to hit the ground running and not miss a beat from the 2014 season. lol

And by the way, I'm not pushing for Romo to start, my opinions are based on what I think the Cowboys are thinking. It looks like Jerry wants Romo to start this year, so if that's the case, he needs to do it REAL soon.

Protect Romo until and if he's NEEDED. He could be our ace in the hole late in the season if Dak starts to struggle or he's injured. Romo can't stay healthy for very long, he may not last one or two games before he's laying on the turf again. The team and Dak are playing great, just keep riding this wave and if Romo is NEEDED we'll have him. There's no reason for him to play now with as good as Dak and the team are playing but things could change and we'll have him as our ace in the hole. It would make no sense to risk him now and have him get injured because if Dak were to go down later in the season, we'll end stuck with Sanchez in the most critical games and none of us want that.

All I can say is the coaches have been monitoring Romo and see him day in and day out and chances are have a pretty good feeling of where Romo is in terms of being ready. We will find out Sunday if Romo dresses for the game. I have no doubt that Dak will be the starter this Sunday. If the Cowboys choose not to dress Romo this game evidently he will be back in uniform very soon.

You said so many generalized statements I'm not sure what to respond to other than to say yes, I believe Romo today gives the Cowboys a better chance than Mark Sanchez.

I'm happy to debate you on that point.

No chance they are starting him.
But if Pittsburgh even has to think of the possibility at all, that can't hurt Dallas.

I think it means if Romo is available..

the other team has to prepare somewhat if Romo enters the game for any reason.

Meaning less time spent on DAK and our offense under him.

It's very different..

Romo in his current state probably does give us a better chance than Sanchez but let's say Dak goes down on Sunday, I would give Sanchez a try first even if Romo is ready to go to protect Romo. Sanchez has shown he can play pretty effectively if he has a strong running game. He played great against us 2 years ago on Thanksgiving with a running game. If Sanchez goes down who cares!

We can't afford to lose Romo for the season which would probably be the case if he suffers yet another injury. We'll be down to having to rely on Sanchez if Dak were to go down later in the season. I don't want to put ourselves in a position of possibly having to enter the playoffs with Sanchez. The team is thinking exactly what I'm thinking, keep Romo out of harms way as our ace in the hole for later in the season. There's no NEED to play him now.

Pittsburgh is smart enough to only be preparing for Dak.

Completely unrelated, Sanchez seems like a really good guy on the sidelines and in interviews. Brad sham interviewed him after the last game In mop up duty, seems like a nice guy...and hes always around Dak on the sideline. Probably why I'd make a bad gm.
