No team, in the Super Bowl era, has missed the playoffs with an opening 8-1 record.
We're not 8-1 yet.

I think they won't activate him because of the distraction. He is already becoming a distraction IMO. But that's the fault of the coaches. They could just say Dak is the starter and Romo the backup amd be done with it. I have a feeling they are going to screw up this momentum some how!
Maybe so, but I'm making no assumptions until we are actually mathematically in.
Let me ask you is if fair to say you think Dak should be the starter? I'm not saying you are wrong what I am saying is coaches will make determinations on what they are seeing. Part of the reason Dallas is 7-1 right now is not just Dak the coaches are playing a big part in that, Dak is not coaching himself and while I know it kills some to give the staff and HC any credit there is no question that what they are doing is working not just on offense but overall team play.
I don't agree with suiting him up and sitting him on the sidelines. If they are hell bent on starting the guy eventually, now is the time. It's time right now because if Dak wheels off another 5 wins, if you pull him then, the fans will rip Romo a new one. And if he loses in the playoffs, wow, you can't imagine what fans will say.

Active with the clipboard? For the first time all year, the Cowboys are not listing Tony Romo as “out” on the injury report. Read
After three full days of practice participation, Romo is questionable for Sunday’s game with the Steelers. While rookie Dak Prescott is expected to start his ninth straight game for the Cowboys, the backup situation might be uncertain now. Read
Romo, who suffered a broken bone in his back during the Seattle preseason game back in late August, has been inactive for every game this season. Read
On Friday, head coach Jason Garrett said the team had yet to decide whether Romo would be active for Sunday’s game.

I...disagree.A QB that hasn't played a regular season game in a full year and is coming off a broken back doesn't give the Cowboys the best chance to win if Dak goes down vs the Steelers. If they knock Dak out they'll be tasting blood in the water especially if Romo were to come in. Anytime a QB gets knocked out that fires up a defense which intensifies their pass rush. I'm not saying we would have a better chance with Sanchez in that situation but he's completely healthy and has had a lot of work this summer and in practice. If Dak were to go down and we're behind and have to throw the ball I would cringe with Romo back there knowing he hasn't faced a regular season pass rush in a year. Some of you think he's going to hit the ground running and not miss a beat from the 2014 season. lol
I...disagree.
I know Rome or teams that Rome QBs, are habitual chokers.Only fans who don't know football. Most people are pretty savy they realise Dak is a rookie and is benefiting from the best O- line and running back in the league most are realistic and realise Romo is better than a rookie its usually just the Romo haters or new Cowboy fans that were Dak Fans in college that will throw a fit. Very savy fans watch the film and know Dak is a bus driver their not worried they know Romo a can hand-off and dink n dunk as well as Dak not to mention throw the ball down the field better. Did you see Kessler throw the ball down field more than Dak ?
If he is healthy he should be active. That is what gives the Cowboys the best chance to be successful on Sunday. Were Dak to go down we need Romo ready to step in. Not Mark. The number 1 seed is not yet locked up.
Protect Romo until and if he's NEEDED. He could be our ace in the hole late in the season if Dak starts to struggle or he's injured. Romo can't stay healthy for very long, he may not last one or two games before he's laying on the turf again. The team and Dak are playing great, just keep riding this wave and if Romo is NEEDED we'll have him. There's no reason for him to play now with as good as Dak and the team are playing but things could change and we'll have him as our ace in the hole. It would make no sense to risk him now and have him get injured because if Dak were to go down later in the season, we'll end stuck with Sanchez in the most critical games and none of us want that.
Wouldn't you say he would be the best backup for Dak?I don't agree with suiting him up and sitting him on the sidelines. If they are hell bent on starting the guy eventually, now is the time. I was talking as starter.Wouldn't you say he would be the best backup for Dak?
I don't think they plan on pulling Dak but Tony gives you the best chance to win if Dak goes down
It sounds like the players onand off the field are just fine.I think they won't activate him because of the distraction. He is already becoming a distraction IMO. But that's the fault of the coaches.
