I do think its a mistake just to take one game against us and think he is going to be all that.

And I'm not. Sorry if I was giving that impression. But I would welcome anyone who's curious to take a look at his body of work since he's been out of Cleveland, especially these past two years in Washington. I see a mature, prepared player with an exceptionally high completion percentage who doesn't turn over the football. That says an ideal backup to me.

Honestly, McCoy would be fine with me, but I don't think he is going to be much better than the other the Moores and other journeymen backups.

I think what will help our backups next year (if we have to use them) is to have a dominant run game like in '14, have Dez be healthy, have a better defense, and have the coaches create a more creative game plan that plays into their strengths.

Again, I encourage you and anyone else to take a closer look at his last two seasons of work in Washington. I think he can either be a quality backup for us, or for them.

There are ten starters in league who are terrible so it follows naturally the backups all are.

Shh. Some people seem to think we should have 2 elite QBs on the roster at the same time. The lack of 2 elites is terrible vision by the front office, and the coaching staff can't be expected to field even a mediocre team without one on the field at all times.

That's fair, but if you compare his first two and half games and Kellen Moore's first two and a half games, they aren't much different. I don't think Moore had any more to work with in Dallas than McCoy did in Cleveland. Moore also did not have the advantage of working with the offense at all for more than a week before he got his first action. If we do go with one of the journey men as the main back up I would just as soon go with Linehan's guy in Moore. He is not the future #1, but I am in the camp of him being a capable backup if given a chance to get off season work with the team.

But honestly, I would welcome McCoy if he comes here, the coaches and the scouts get to watch a lot more film than I do!

Which two and a half games? McCoy's in Cleveland and Moore's in Dallas?

I don't think Moore had any more to work with in Dallas than McCoy did in Cleveland.

I think at the very least, he had a far superior offensive line in front of him, don't you?

Moore also did not have the advantage of working with the offense at all for more than a week before he got his first action.

Moore was on the roster for three months prior to his first start.

Again, I encourage you to take a closer look if you have the time and are seriously interested. It may just change your mind a bit on him.

I hope they sign McCoy and draft a QB.

4-12 happens when you don't have a good plan at QB.

So 5 mill for drafting a QB at #4 and 2-3 mill for McCoy means 7-8 mill for players not playing. Add in Romo's 20 mil and that's 27-28 million dollars for 1 position.

That would be beyond foolish. Even with that much money in the position romo goes down for 4 or more games the season is toast again.

I don't think anybody is expecting to have 2 Romo's on the team, but how about having a backup that can win a couple of games if Romo has to miss time? You know, other teams actually do win games without their starter.

The Broncos won the SB and Peyton Manning missed 7 games...............We would have lost all 7 if that was us.

Cleveland's line was pretty strong on the left, not so strong on the right side, so yes ours in '15 was a little better than the Browns in '10, but their defense got more turnovers than ours giving them more chances to win. He also did not have

Alright man, I can tell you are really high on him and that's fine. Like I said, I would not mind him coming him, I think he would be just as good as any other journeymen, but, to be fair to Moore, he had been working with scout team and not working with our offense for most of the year. You like McCoy, I want to give Moore another chance, I also want a good rookie, not a big deal.

As even keel of a difference of opinion as I could ask for. Kudos to you for that.

And we can agree on wanting the rookie as well. We need a plan for the future.

No more than it would be if we drafted a defensive player there either. Let's be honest. And any financial cost regarding the #4 pick is the same.
