Miller would be great but I don't see them spending too much for a RB.

No more than it would be if we drafted a defensive player there either. Let's be honest. And any financial cost regarding the #4 pick is the same.

True. It's all about building the defense via FA and romo staying healthy.

Big difference. If we draft a defensive player at #4 he's going to play this year.

To what effect? Byron Jones? Randy Gregory? I don't see where either one was the difference between 4-12 and 12-4.

What the hell is wrong with you? We are drafting at #4! Where did we draft Jones or Gregory? And Jones did a damn good job last year drafting him where we did. Jeez man, you are really losing credibility.

Every backup QB in the NFL sucks!
There's not a backup QB anywhere who will help us win any better than Weeden/Cassel if Romo gets injured.

Our only option is to draft the 2nd best QB in a weak QB draft at #4 in round one....then we will be fine for the next 15 years! Go Cowboys!

No QB at #4 = ALL IS LOST!

Trade up to get the 1st ranked (Goff), but agree about the opportunity of picking 4th overall will be completely wasted if a QB isn't chosen. Sometimes, you have to take a chance and be aggressive in a calculated way and not the impulsive way; trade up for Mo. W/out a great QB in this league, you are already starting from behind before the whistle blows before kickoff. The team has a great opportunity to have Romo (when healthy) making DAL a playoff team and @ WORST have a QB to learn how Romo handles reads from the LOS pre snap. Win Win. This supporting cast talk in RD 1 is denial of the Romo situation if I've ever seen it and I love Romo (favorite player on team by a long shot).

And Romo is guaranteed to make it through the whole season despite routine pre game cortisone shots/skipping WED practices ever week in '14 that are unrelated to his injury last season:confused: (back injuries are/and will always be an issue that tend to worsen with age). Romo ranked last in passing targets exceeding +30 yards during 12-4, but still had wonderful efficiency when he did attempt to go deeper/medium range down the field (conserving his back) and insane 3rd down passing efficiency; which was manageable due to the running game, etc.

I know where Gregory was slated to go before his marijuana test. (Hint to the clueless, top 10!) And neither he, nor fellow first rounder Byron Jones made a huge impact on the team's defense. In fact, things were worse. But then again, people who actually do their homework would know that.

Jeez man, you are really losing credibility.

I hate to break it to you, but someone like you doesn't get to 'give' or 'take away' credibility. You'd have to have a shred of it yourself first.

I'd love to see us get Moore and McCoy.

I see a lot of Romo in McCoy. Think he is criminally underrated by this board.

I don't think anybody is expecting to have 2 Romo's on the team, but how about having a backup that can win a couple of games if Romo has to miss time? You know, other teams actually do win games without their starter.

The Broncos won the SB and Peyton Manning missed 7 games...............We would have lost all 7 if that was us.

How much of that is the qb and how much are other problems (coaching)?

Brock Osweiler
Colt McCoy
Sam Bradford
RGIII
Kirk Cousins
Nick Foles

These are they types of QBs we will have to throw 50m at in 2 years if we don't draft one this year at 4.

Draft Goff/Wentz, sign one of the above to a one year deal and we're covered now and in the future.

Well since Jerry has a hard on for Garrett, we are stuck with the coaching............it aint getting any better, so plan B is to have a much better backup QB

But yes, we do have problems with coaching, not disagreeing with you at all on that.

THIS says it all guys
Jones said on Wednesday after the North team practice at the Reese's Senior Bowl that the Cowboys do not feel like they have to take a quarterback with their first pick -- No. 4 overall -- or at any other point in the draft.

"There are many options," Jones said. "There's free agency ... We have to (draft a QB) to do what? We have to win a Super Bowl next year? Do we have to compete for a Super Bowl in the future? Do you have to have it in place after this draft? There's no have-to here, in my mind, because we have the luxury of having Romo here for three, four, five more years."

To me this says jerry will not draft a qb at 4 or at all lol.

I think you draft one at 4 and dont sign a vet , let the drafted guy be # 2.
