Cowboys may have interest in Colt McCoy

Kellen in his first starts was better than Cassel or Weeden. Moore put the ball in places they simply can't or won't.

McCoy is not an improvement over what we have, he's a player in fear afraid to get hit and that hinders what monetary skills he used to have. Simply not better than Moore who is still fearless enough to have game.

Moore does not have an NFL arm...............sorry, but he just doesn't.

He cannot throw the ball from one hash mark to the other on a 20 yard out..........pretty much the litmus test for arm strength in the NFL.

If he could do that and throw for over 400 yards.........he would be starting in this league and making a hell of a lot of money while doing it.

No, I'm chewing gum and walking at the same time. We have a SB contender, IMO, and you need to protect and enhance that window AMAP. A vet backup and a developmental QB hopefully this year no later than next fits the bill.

Whatever. We do NOT have a SB contender. Its not even worth talking about it with someone that thinks that. I will let you remain in la la land.

Carolina was 7-8-1 last year. If Cam doesn't play his worst game of the year two Sundays ago he has a ring.

You're entitled to your opinion and they are both opposing opinions not facts. If Romo stays healthy we'll find out.

AS this team stands right now, it is NOT a title contender. Even with a healthy Romo. Now that could change depending on the offseason. But any chance of that would have to include Romo being healthy for the entire season. And I guess all depends on what you think a real SB contender is. For me, its a team that is top 4 in the NFL. I didnt even see Dallas that way in 2014 and I so how can I see them that way this year. Making the playoffs is not a title contender to me.

Carolina has nothing to do with Dallas. You could say that about 80% of the teams in the NFL.

Cam is a young up and coming talent at QB. He is not an aging 36 year old that has missed his last season and now broken his collar bone 3 times in 3 years and has back problems.

Carolina has also had a strong defense for a few years now. And they have quality coaching. None of those 3 Dallas has. How you going to find that in one year? You have to pray that Romo stays healthy which in itself is not likely. What came out of nowhere with Carolina was the passing game. It appears you can solve one big issue in one year if you do everything right. But not as many problems as the Cowboys have.

But its fun to believe for some. I personally dont like to get fooled. I like a team to prove it first. This team hasnt earned my confidence. Just the opposite.

When you play one of the best defenses of all time, you can expect your worst day as a QB. And if Cam had any brains, he wouldnt have been running his mouth before the game. Talk about giving them ammo. Live and learn.

I'm saying a healthy Romo makes us a SB contender esp IF they add a better pass rush and defense.

Yah, if Romo plays all the games, we get the running game back to what it was with Murray, and we fix the defense to a top 8 unit with a pass rush?

Like I said, not going to happen. Hasnt happened in 20 years.

Even when Romo did play last year, this team still didn't look right certainly never like they did in 2014.

One great drive and a meltdown in game management by the opponent helped to win the week one game.

Epic offensive ineptitude from the Eagles fueled the week two victory.

I encourage anyone who seriously thinks that this team's only issue was not having Tony Romo take a look at the actual numbers when we did:

They weren't great then either, and nobody was up to their 2014 standards.

I believe a healthy Romo (throughout the season) makes the Cowboys a playoff team. Innovation/new wrinkles (from the coaches), personnel upgrade -- especially on defense, and luck will determine if they are a Super Bowl team.

It looks like the 'McCoy Movement' continues to gain momentum:

Question: Who is the Cowboys' No. 2 quarterback come training camp?

David Moore: He played in Washington last season. What's his name? Oh yeah, Colt McCoy. I know there is a fascination that the Cowboys could grab RG III. I wouldn't rule it out. But if RG III comes here, it's knowing he's the backup. There are some teams where he has a chance to go in and win the starting job immediately. Houston comes to mind.

The run game was nothing close to 2014 which was 70% of the reason we had such a good season. And then of course the defense wasnt creating so many turnovers. Which to me is directly related to the lack of dominant run game.

Well, they were 8-8 3 years in a row and you could call them a playoff caliber team. On that I will agree if Romo is healthy. But a SB contender, that is too much to expect. Is it possible? "so you are saying there is a chance"? LOL

I know you Lornhorn fans would love a good redemption story but this is a easy pass for me.

Colt McCoy isn't any better than Kellen Moore who is currently onthe roster....

And don't forget that the run game had to be altered to accommodate the ill-fit running back we signed in free agency.

McFadden had a great year and should be praised for that, but what does it say that you signed a running back who was poor in the zone scheme when that's what you were running? And then you altered your scheme mid-season to accommodate the guy you signed? Seems like a poor way of doing business to me.

My own belief in the move has to do with McCoy's own growth and development as a pro and nothing to do with anything related to the Longhorns.

I think he's learned a lot under Gruden in Washington and has developed into a solid #2 option. And Kellen Moore has more turnovers per game than McCoy has had in the last two years combined!

With Romo there's a chance. ;)
