Cowboys meeting with DE Clowney

Eze and Kneeland haven’t done anything in the NFL and Clark is average. His three pro bowl years were all injury replacement. He’s ok.

Allen and Bonita are both *all pro*

in Week 1, the Broncos had six sacks, seven tackles for loss, and 12 QB hits.

Last year they were easily a top ten defense and they are on their way up.
I referenced the Broncos bc I’m aware of how good they are. And for what it’s worth, Bonitto and Allen were both second team all pros. Regardless, neither are considered generational type players, which again, goes to my point: a defense can thrive just fine with a bunch of good players when they play as a unit. EZ and Clark were just examples of a couple guys we currently have who could very likely break out and become high level performers as a part of an all around solid team defense.

You are biased.

They have both been in the league since 2014, Lawrence has 47 more tackles and 3.5 more sacks in his career. He has played in two more games. Clowney has 4 years with 9 or more sacks. Lawrence has two but does have one year with 14.5.

Not much separating the two.
A mile separates the two.

Gilmore ain't coming and I'll tell you why. People have been clamoring for him to be signed, and the front office has rebuffed all those calls. Signing him now would admit they were wrong, and there is zero chance they will do that.

Wrong about injuries.

A full hotdog? No way stephen is that generous

Is this Clowney thing a situation of Cowboys cheap FA approach? Because I see the Eagles sign a DE while Cowboys are hosting visits.

Smith got 1 year, $4 million to play on a deep contender.

Clowney is a merchant. He is not going to come on those types of terms. To me, just is not worth the investment.

Could be a nice rotational player if he is in decent shape.

Fowler was atrocious on Thursday— so having a vet DE that can set the edge and contain a QB would be a good thing
Fowler was doing a lot of standing around watching his team mates make tackles.

People criticize Jerry for trading away draft picks in idiotic trades (Lance, Pickens, Mingo) and signing cast offs and rejects in FA. I don't think people would get in him for a one year rental of a somewhat decent player. We have the money.
Lance was a good trade at the time, Jerry screwed it up after.
Pickens was another good trade that could be a great trade.
Mingo was also a good trade at the time, always intended for this year. Jury still out, as he is on IR, but had a great TC.

Respectfully disagree on Lance - no one else wanted him and we gave up a 4th. Similar to Mingo. IMHO it was just wildcatter swinging for the fences when we might have a legit RB and some other player here. Just my 2 cents.

He’s not coming because he’s cooked lol.
