Cowboys meeting with DE Clowney

For a lot of teams a player visit is a formality for getting signed. For Dallas, they just want to see what the player looks like. LOL.

I know that's what the market says, but doesn't mean that Clowney isn't trying to get more. Likely a big reason why some guys remain unsigned. Clowney should be in the 3 to 5 million range and likely where the Cowboys were thinking too.

Most teams can connect with the Agent and have a solid idea on if they are close on numbers before having a visit. If Jerry refuses to do that, then they have no idea and have people visit potentially for no reason.

Exactly I agree the players really trying to motivate other teams to go after him and when that all settles and the dust settles this is better for the Cowboys because they get to see this Sunday whether we need a defensive back more than a defensive end and it gives both parties some time to think about it he may end up still being here but you're right if he's asking for eight to $10 million I'm probably not on board with that either...

But it was reported he's also thinking about it meaning he was using the Cowboys to try to get more suitors involved...

So yes in some ways it's better to take your time because again we may need to pick up Gilmore or somebody like him instead we need to see how this team performs without Bland and give our defensive edges another game and see how they do give our linebackers another game see how the defense plays as a whole and then right away Monday you make a decision on what type of veteran you need to bring in at what position..

Agreed that should be the general area if he's looking for double that then it's probably smart maybe we should just go get Gilmore I think for the Cowboys it's better they wait anyway let's play the Giants and see what our bigger hole is missing bland we might need to pick up Gilmore instead use that money on your actual need so let's play one more game and see where that is..

You'd be very wrong most of the reports said that Clowny's the one that wanted to discuss this further probably with his family and his agent to make sure it's the best fit has nothing to do with money At this point you're making wholesale ridiculous conclusions that never happened literally report said that he wanted to think it over and by the way that benefits the Cowboys because they may end up needing a corner more than a edge guy will play the Giants and then we'll know what our bigger needs are because Bland going down for a couple weeks just changed this and maybe that's why they didn't make a hard press for him...

I get what you're saying he's annoying the things he does with his narcissism and he always wants to be in front of a camera or a microphone I just ignore all that but in the end you look at the draft picks you look overall has the team been winning do they win divisions are they getting into the playoffs they are definitely not in the bottom of the NFL they've been in the top twelve of the NFL in regular season win percentage for a very long time they've been to the playoffs more on a more regular basis than most teams even though the playoff success isn't there yes he should get some blame for it but stop acting like this guys the worst GM to ever live on the planet because he's not That's just a hate for Jerry because of the things he says and does but when you really look at it he may not be a top 10 front office guy but he's definitely not lower than 16 they're a far worse teens in this league that can't even get a division win or can't win on a regular basis and that's a fact..

Don’t care, Clowney isn’t making the difference between us making a Super Bowl run or not. This feels more like Jerry trying to show the fans “I tried” even if they do sign him.

Like with Pickens, it's a move to be competitive, not meant to turn us into contenders.
