I want a rb in there that the opposition gets tired of tackling...he is the only guy we got like that.

I want a guy that will thump a cornerback trying to tackle him...and diminish the cornerbacks ability to cover the rest of the game

Stephen has been one of the greatest assets to this team and it seems that almost every time he is either saying or doing the best thing for this team. This is one of the few times he is not. You shouldn't have to wait for an injury to see what you have in another player. I hope they reconsider because this guy is going to be special behind this line and the sooner the better.

I think he will, ultimately, be better than Randle or McFadden. I think he will be the starter here at some point this season. However, I see no reason to rush it. I want him to have the offense down and especially the blocking assignments. Protecting Romo is more important than the upgrade that I think he will give. Once he has those down, then bring him out.

I agree 100%!

Anyone clamoring for him to be put out on the field doesn't realize that this season could end with just one blown assignment and a big hit injuring Romo. If that happens, the season is over and all the great runs in the world won't change it.

I'm fine with being patient and making sure he's fully prepared for the job. If and when that happens, activate him and let him show what he can do. Until then, he keeps working.

Great post. #1 priority: protect Romo #2: pound the rock

Once he has the protections down, I think they'll give him a shot.

Dunbar is the one keeping the Cowboys from activating CM.

Blame Dunbar from surprising all of us and pretty much making himself invaluable in game 1.

So is it going to be the same problem with Brice Butler? I mean ok WR is a position of need cause of the situation but our RB situation isn't settled, why not carry 4 of them & deactivate streets for Butler? Give each back a chance and roll with the hot hand, he wasn't given a chance in Seattle with Lynch, there's no lynch here, don't get me wrong I liked what I saw from Randle and the crew but we are without our biggest offensive threat.

Could be as simple as making CM earn the star on his helmet and letting him know "we're not in Kansas anymore." He did not seem to have a sense of team with the Hawks.

They have protecting Romo as the #1 priority and this Michael has not been here long enough to guarantee that he knows enough to do that right now.

He will probably get an opportunity to show where he is at around the bye week.

Let's get him prepared to succeed rather than setting him up for failure. Patience guys, it's a process :)

The worst case scenario is that none of our other backs get hurt all season, which is probably a good problem to have and trying to decide when to slip him onto the field. Anyone complaining the DMAC is an injury waiting to happen, then he doesn't get injured will not be complaining so much when he breaks a few for huge gains.

What a team says and what it does are often two very different things. When time comes that Garrett thinks Michael can help the team, he'll play him. Simple as that.

Unless our other guys are just blowing it out of the water, it makes no sense to me not to give him a shot to carry the load in a game just to see what happens after he's fully acclimated to the system. You can't ever get the full picture of a player's talents until they're in a live game. And it would be a huge waste if he turned out to be the second coming and we had him inactive all year.

The team needs to gain a level of trust with him. I like the plan not to activate him early. Wait until there's an actual need e.g, injury or others not getting it done. Interesting to see how it all shakes out.

This sounds like Garrett being smart. Hes hedging the best one of the Rbs will be injured very quickly.

That A-hole, hopefully he'll start sucking so we can get this unknown in there

I know Stephen generally tells the truth, but couldn't this be a little misinformation in one of the biggest division games of the year?

Not complaining, but we traded for a guy who's going to be 4th on our RB depth chart? Maybe the team just wasn't expecting all 3 of our RBs to show that they can contribute and remain healthy after week 1 lol.

Yea, this is a little puzzling. You know, if I'm not mistaken, the legal problems Randle was involved with last year is still up for league review/punishment. Wonder if JJ has some heads up that a suspension may be coming. Long shot, I know, but I can't fathom trading for the guy to place him fourth on the depth chart. Seems they had to see a need there.

Until he shows in practice that he can hold onto the ball and protect the QB, it doesn't matter. And that stuff takes some time. It's better PR to just say you're waiting for an injury opening. If the guy proves he's both ready and better than McFadden or Randle, they can just change their story at that point and move him up.

I think you probably nailed it.
