IRVING -- Although Morris Claiborne missed 12 regular season games and the playoffs because of a torn patellar tendon, he doesn't look at last season as a complete loss.

While rehabbing from the injury, Claiborne became a better student of the game.

"That's a big thing that I've really learned," Claiborne said. "Just sitting down with the coaches when I was sitting out, going in and seeing how they study film and learning the correct way to study film."

Before that extra time with Cowboys staff members like defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson, Claiborne says he would just turn on the film, watch plays and call that film study, not really knowing what to look for.

"But now I take the breakdowns of the top concepts and things like that and go in-depth with it, down and distances and formations," Claiborne said...

He watched film but he didn't watch it correctly. That is on Les and most college coaches.

Of course it's on him and that's been what I've been saying every year.
He always looked like he had no idea what his man was going to do next and that's film study.

I thought he was completely ignoring it though, not that he didn't know what he was looking at.

Jerome Henderson should be asked why he couldn't recognize Morris' issues over the course of seasons. Does he not quiz his players during the week on the opponent?

Not good coaching Henderson.

Do people think he was watching film in college? Do schools offer NFL Film Analysis 101? I wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of younger guys know they're watching on tape
