My question is who do you think will be there at 17 for wideout that most people would be happy with ?

Player candidates for selection are ranked by a team, based upon talent evaluated by that team. The team determines value based upon how that player fits into it's own scheme.

Best Player Available, still applies...and is very important with a team's first round pick.

Speed was great for Bob Hayes and not so much for Willie Gault and John Ross.

We’re still pretending Dak’s not an accurate QB?

65.8% career completion pct.... 4th-best in NFL history.

I know you are one of those stat guys.

I am a touchy feely guy.

Last year I watched Dak overthrow wide open guys..

saw him fail to lead WRs and throw behind them.

The ones I remember clearly are the ones where Dak would throw a laser beam right into the DBs chest. The DB would flat out drop it becuz he was so surprised Dak threw it.

Last year..this happened almost every game.. Had any of them run them back for 6 pts we would be screaming.

So I appreciate the stater-boys opinions. But I prefer the things I clearly see from drive to drive.

    That's all.

I think your team always needs a speed guy in their top 3 WRs to stress the DBs. Dak's numbers were really good without that guy.

For this QB, I think route running is more important, but I agree it would be great if that guy had 4.4 speed.

A lot of WRs in the draft, I prefer a bigger WR (6'2-6'4) for Dak with route running ability.

The QB accuracy chart from the Eagles revealed the type of guy Dak needs. A WR who can work the intermediate routes. Only thing is, what effect will Big Mike have on the passing game philosophy?

You don’t know football. At all. You should find a new hobby.

Every single QB has bad balls that are still caught. Every single QB has bad balls that could’ve been picked but weren’t.

Unless you have some context to show that Dak has more of those than other QBs, you have absolutely nothing.

Your garbage “eye test” doesn’t count more than the stats do.

And your “eye test” is just that: garbage.

    Whatever you think.

Some out there will understand my implications.

Some will clearly remember the dropped interceptions.

I do not have to go back and find the video. Nobody will take the time to do that. But you remember the plays. They are there. I need to prove nothing.

Dak already proved it by doing it.

    Enjoy the show..

I mean if you are gonna stan the guy at least spell his name properly.

A wide out at 17 would be an extremely poor use of resources.
    No matter who is there.

You just paid your long term WR1 20m a year.
You have a WR2 who is ascending to Pro Bowl caliber.

Adding WR3 in round 1 would be a lot like ATL adding Ridley and we have seen how many games they have won since doing so.

With the insane depth of this class you can get a guy who's 90% of the player in round 3 or 4.

No they don't...They need a slot receiver who can catch the ball.

Kellen Moore wanted more SPEED - if you look back at this past summer when we brought in Jonvea Johnson, Reggie Davis, Jaylon Guyton, Devin Smith, to already return Tavon Austin as a FA again, there was clear evidence that Kellen & McClay crew was going to be
    bring more emphasis on speed.
they wanted more chunk big plays and having guys with this kind of dimension was going to bring it.

    - Cooper and Gallup were already guys that proved they could separate and bring chunk plays in passing game - the emphasis was on the 3rd, 4th and depth , and gimmick guys (ala Austin)

    - But it wasn't only pure speed that was a big key but the other important traits to the makeup of any WR- the route running, knowing how to set up a CB and separate out of cuts, consistent hands catcher,..having knack for the game,.. .. rapport with the QBs,.. reading coverages on the run,.. consistently bringing the A-game and showing up on the field, etc.

    - Devin Smith apparently showed moxie in camps that rookies Johnson, Guyton and vet Davis did not. plus he offered gunner help as a special teamer. but his one lone moment here came when he flat toasted declining Josh Norman on a go fly route for a TD vs Skins, he eventually came up with a big catch vs Miami as well, but form Saints game and on he was never a factor again on the field.
Whether his receiving game became an issue or the club just needed more special teams help elsewhere remains debatable. but Devin Smith
disappeared for remaining season, and i believe he is a FA so it's even debatable if he even returns back to the Cowboys.

i understand that. And Dak does have a lot of come from behind wins. So I guess that counts as crucial game winning situations. :D

We already have 2 deep threats. What we need are a #1 TE (Jarwin is a serviceable but not good blocker) and another slot WR.
