Curious, why wouldn't he be a fit here?

He could fit, I just think we'd be taking away one of his strengths. The kid has a quick mind and likes to play fast. He'd fit in perfectly in New England's system.

we'll have to trade for the 1st overall pick to get him.

Disagree. My top 5 in the NFL Draft

1) Tennessee has Mariota
2) Browns? They just drafted Manziel - are they going to pay 2 1st round QBs? Doubtful - unless they trade JF
3) Chargers need defense. Bosa goes here
4) Ravens have Flacco. No need for QB this high
5) Cowboys can get either Goff or Lynch. I'm down with Goff

We also have the chance to move up as high as 2nd overall. If Jerry is serious about a competent backup for Romo, here's his golden chance.

The Cowboys are currently 4th

I could see San Fran trading their first and 2nd rounders to get one of the top 2 picks and take Goff. Rumor has it their GM and Owner really like him. They probably still resent passing on the last local kid to come out of Cal (Rodgers). Could see it happening.

I dont know about this.their Roster has been gutted completely, they cant afford to be putting all their eggs in the Goff basket ,they also gave a huge contract to Kaepernick

It's college football. Crap QBs can do that at the college level. That means nothing. Dude plays in the spread offense which makes the over-inflation that much worse.

this is it when it comes to college 99% of the time they are in shotgun.you cant evaluate QBs based on the type of system they run.

Normally I agree that spread quarterbacks typically have over inflated stats. Not for this kid. If you watched this game, you will see someone who is throwing down the field with accuracy. Not someone who has an over inflated completion percentage due to throwing bubble screens. Sure he needs to be under center more, but that can be worked on. Any QB we get will sit for a year or two anyway, which will give him time to work on his mechanics and grasp of the offense.

(Goff that is) in the 2016 NFL Draft! :)

20/28
337 yards
5 TDS
0 INTS

Still in the 3rd quarter. This dude is a stud. Do it Jerry! :D

Sounds great and all - but the $1M question then becomes when do we get a new CB (or 2), RB, 1T, LB's, etc.? And, yes, I am aware they will probably have 3-4 comp picks to add to the 5 they already have.

He completed several deep passes. I was impressed. I don't like that he can't throw a tight spiral, which in turn can lead to some fluttering passes, but he's been accurate anyways so hell, I don't know.
