Coincidence.

If Jared Goff declares for the 2016 NFL draft, his last victory as a collegiate occurred in Dallas/Ft. Worth in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Likewise, Troy Aikman's last victory as collegiate occurred in the 1989 Cotton Bowl in Dallas as UCLA beat Arkansas.

Come on Jerry, it's destiny.

Hate to say it, but the QB depth chart in 2016 will be:

Tony Romo
Robert Griffin III
Carson Wentz or another 2nd-3rd round qb

Sounds great and all - but the $1M question then becomes when do we get a new CB (or 2), RB, 1T, LB's, etc.? And, yes, I am aware they will probably have 3-4 comp picks to add to the 5 they already have.

I hear ya, but as we saw, when Romo went down, so did our season. We can't afford to go another season with backups the caliber of Weeden, Cassell, or Moore. With our weapons, we still won what 1 or 2 games without Romo? That's unsat. We went from contenders to having a top 5 pick in next year's draft.

The backup QB position is important. I'm on record as saying one more vicious hit on Romo and I think he's done. Let's face it, he's 36 and fragile. I understand we have other holes to fill, but the backup (or eventual replacement for Romo) must happen this summer. Or this franchise will be set back big time.

1. Tennessee Titans: 3-12 (.492 strength of schedule)
2. Cleveland Browns: 3-12 (.533 SOS)
3. San Diego Chargers: 4-11 (.525 SOS)
4. Dallas Cowboys: 4-11 (.529 SOS)
5. San Francisco 49ers: 4-11 (.550 SOS)
6. Jacksonville Jaguars: 5-10 (.471 SOS)
7. Miami Dolphins: 5-10 (.475 SOS)
8. Baltimore Ravens: 5-10 (.504 SOS)
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 6-9 (.483 SOS)
10. New York Giants: 6-9 (.492 SOS)
11. New Orleans Saints: 6-9 (.508 SOS)
12. Philadelphia Eagles: 6-9 (.513 SOS)
13. Detroit Lions: 6-9 (.538 SOS)
14. Chicago Bears: 6-9 (.546 SOS)
15. Indianapolis Colts: 7-8 (.500 SOS)

More realistic to look at top 15 as teams can trade up. But when outside top 15 much harder since it'll cost too much to move into top 5. At most only 4 teams besides Cowboys will be interested in QB. I am putting Cassel back to make sure we lose to Washington!!

Possible QB
3. Cleveland....yes I think they will if prospect is there. Not everyone in Cleveland is stupid.
5. SF
11. NO... unlikely but who knows. Bree is older too much like Romo.
12. It's the Giggles. Depends who's the new head coach now.

I dont know about this.their Roster has been gutted completely, they cant afford to be putting all their eggs in the Goff basket ,they also gave a huge contract to Kaepernick

They can get out of the contract at no cost to them. They have to decide by April 1. His contract is like 1 year contract. Was not a smart move on Kap's part but that is what happens when you are loyal to a team.

Wentz won't make it to our pick in the 2nd . He will go late 1st.

Then I would trade up into the late 1st to get him. It gives us an extra year in his contract since he'd be a 1st rounder.

I would too. My hope is if we think Lynch, Goff, and Wentz are close that we trade back for extra picks and then use those picks to trade back in the 1st to grab Wentz.

Exactly what I was thinking as well. The extra picks would hopefully allow us to grab our runningback (Elliot) or wide receiver (Treadwell).

They have to go defense given what a disgrace that side of the ball has been, right?

Wentz is a hot name right now, but once scouts get a chance to look at him closely, I think he has almost no chance of being a first round pick. For starters, playing in the FCS is going to be a huge mark against him, but an even bigger one, is his 23 career starts. You really want 2 full seasons at minimum before you spend a high pick on a guy, preferably 2.5-3 full seasons worth of starts. There are obvious exceptions, but scouts really want to see a huge body of work before feeling comfortable signing off on a guy. Unless he has a great senior bowl week (if he's even eligible) he'll be a second round pick, at best.

Looks like my brain's default Jared is the subway guy.

Along with writing 2016 a couple hundred times, I will write Jared Goff multiple times.
