They don't and it shows. During the first drive of the game, we ran the ball well and scored a TD. Then, they gave up on it and especially after Murray went down. Got to be able to run the ball. We could've beat Denver if we could've run the ball on that last drive. It's a liability that needs fixed and fixed soon.

Its been a liablity for a long time and without Murray, it's obvious they don't trust the backups. Dunbar is a fumble machine. Tanner is a career backup and Randle is a rookie.

They need to work on an offensive identity. I don't know what offense we will see from week to week. I would like to see Dallas just do what they do best and make the defense stop them rather than playing into the defenses hands. Dictate, dictate and more dication :)

Well, we only have one running back, and a backup who is hurt and inconsistent. The other two showed something in one preseason game, but have been missing in action since then. We need to look around for a vet, IMO.

Murray has nearly 5 yards a carry on the season. But yeah, keep ripping the running game.

The issue is the scheme just abandons the run game.

Yeah. The issue is the running game. It hurt us badly tonight, for example.

I realize that we didn't trust Randle, that is why we abandoned the run after Murray went down, but for a couple of runs he looked good. He looks small out there. I don't know if he could withstand the punishment of starting, although we abandon the run pretty early anyway. I agree with previous posters that we need to bring in some help. Don't know where, but we need it now that Murray is out with MCL sprain.

i think until either Murray returns or some kind of acquisition is made to fill his spot (which is unlikely imo) they will go WCO and utilize Beasley and Harris

Yes, Murray looked good but after the first drive, the OC abandoned the run. Again. Can't win championships without being able to run the ball.

The only thing broken with the running game is that they don't call enough of them. This line has run blocked well since game 1. We stop our own run game by not calling them plain and simple!

That's my point. We give up too easily.

Hard to say you can't run the ball when you DON'T attempt run plays and when you do Romo does that quick out to Dez that always gets 3 yards! When we run the ball 25+ times and lose then talk but until then the issue isn't that we can't run, the issue is that we don't run.

Oh my bad, thought it was saying that we can't pound people effectively! We can, its just were too darn obsessed with thinking we have this high powered passing assault that it blinds the fact that weve run quite well when its been consistently called.

I think that sometimes our coaches don't believe that some players can play bigger than they practice. Until they are forced to play them they don't know, but it seems that it is not that way on defense. Pre-conceived notions are sometimes hard to shed whether they are positive or negative for the Garrett era, see Olgletree over Amendola.

Yea, we're in 100% agreement on this.

This is a excuse that many people use. We've thrown Leary, Fred, Wilcox, Mo, Heath, Wilber, Holloman, Beasley and others into the fire early. All from different draft stock, units and all for various reasons. The issue isn't playing youth early anymore, its the coaches and QB being too stubborn to use what has been an effective aspect of our team.
