5:17 pm Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on what was said at halftime down 3-0: "We were all too loud and we all said too much."

5:02 pm "I was pleased with the way I played. I need to watch the film and see the things I can improve on but I am happy." - Cowboys OT Doug Free on his first NFL start

4:58 pm "I have no concerns about this offense, they just made some plays today, that's all." - WR Miles Austin about the struggles of the Cowboys offense the past two weeks
4:54 pm "I don't ever remember a game where I was the owner of the Cowboys and we won only scoring 7 points." - owner Jerry Jones
4:51 pm "I have nothing to say." - Cowboys CB Terence Newman on the sideline discussions with coach Dave Campo that were broken up by S Ken Hamlin.

4:03 pm As the Commanders begin their final drive, the Cowboys are going to have to play without CB Mike Jenkins, who appears to have had his bell rung on the tackle of Commanders RB Rock Cartwright in the flat.
3:47 pm It's become a game of missed field goals. Commanders K Shaun Suisham, a former Cowboy, has missed his second of the game, a 50-yarder. It remains a one score game for the Cowboys.

3:29 pm As the third quarter ended, Cowboys QB Tony Romo completed his first pass to a wide receiver today. Romo and WR Miles Austin hooked up on a 23-yard strike.
3:20 pm The Cowboys offense continues to struggle throwing the ball. QB Tony Romo has not been accurate and he has yet to complete a pass to a wide receiver.

2:59 pm Though it's early in the third quarter, the Cowboys have done a very nice job of covering Commanders WR Santana Moss. In seven career games against the Cowboys, Moss has four 100-yard receiving games. Three have been in Dallas.
2:41 pm The Cowboys have had their problems scoring in the past two games. The offense has scored one touchdown in the past six quarters.
2:28 pm Cowboys K Nick Folk has missed field goals in two straight games. Folk's miss from 46 yards makes him 4-8 between 40-49 yards.

2:14 pm The big question coming into the game for the Cowboys was how OT Doug Free was going to play for OT Marc Columbo at right tackle. So far Free has done a solid job but was helped out greatly by a nice pick up by RB Felix Jones when Free whiffed badly on DE Phillip Daniels.
1:33 pm The intensity of this game has really picked up. CB Terence Newman came off the field and had some words for secondary coach Dave Campo on the sideline. Newman had to be pulled away by S Ken Hamlin.

1:22 pm The Cowboys are taking advantage of Commanders DT Albert Haynesworth being out of the lineup. The Cowboys have already run the ball seven times in the first quarter. Last week again the Packers, they ran the ball a total of 11 times for the game.
11:56 am The Cowboys will have a different look on offense and defense today because of injuries to starters. S Alan Ball will make his first start for Ken Hamlin and OT Doug Free will start at right tackle for Marc Columbo.
11:48 am Cowboys inactives: 3rd QB Stephen McGee, S Ken Hamlin, CB Allen Rossum, LB Jason Williams, OG Montrae Holland, OC Duke Preston, OT Marc Columbo, LB Curtis Johnson

Free missed his block on a run by Barber...If Free simply seals the inside and makes the defender go around him....it would have allowed Barber to get around the edge on the other side and get the first down and probably a bit more.

At least he didnt have any penalties, that I know of.

totally correct, i call it lack of experience on doug free, i do believe he will get better, stronger after the season is over, look for him to hit the weights in offseason to get stronger to make those plays

well on this play it was more technique than strength.....just stand there and make the guy go around you.....but he will learn.

its ok to make mistakes, as long as your team wins.

totally agree, on the technique part, but also he will be alittle stronger too next year im thinking where he can push back into the defender to hold his ground

doug free doesnt have too much anchor in his lower hips and rear end, that can be fixed in offseason, etc

kinda like erik williams said after his first year in nfl when reggie white threw him; erik said that will never happen again, he worked on his footwork, technique and strength, rest was history;
