Cowboys Orlando Scandrick wants to erase the bad taste of 2015

Returning from a devastating knee injury, Dallas Cowboys veteran cornerback Orlando Scandrick is eager to erase the bad taste of a 4-12 season.

When Dallas Cowboys veteran Orlando Scandrick suffered a season-ending knee injury during last year’s training camp, it was one of several key injuries that derailed the Cowboys season in 2015.

Despite the Cowboys passing defense being ranked fifth in the NFL allowing only 3,636 yards through the air last season, the team as a whole finished the year with an embarrassing 4-12 record.

With the return of Scandrick, along with a healthy starting quarterback in Tony Romo plus the addition of rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys are expected to resemble the roster that went 12-4 just two seasons ago.

As for the 29-year old cornerback, Scandrick is anxious to return to the field and right the wrongs that he was forced to sit through and watch from the sidelines last season.

“I’m excited about this team that we have and I’m excited just to erase that bad taste in everything that we put out there last year and all of the things that happened and everything that went opposite of what we planned,” Scandrick told the team’s official website. “I just want to get back out there and just help my team win.”

The Cowboys could certainly use Scandrick, whom was considered the defense’s best player only a couple seasons ago. His excellent coverage skills plus the emergence of last year’s first round selection, free safety Byron Jones, could indicate a resurgence of Dallas’ secondary is at hand.

In his last two full seasons in Dallas, Scandrick has recorded a total of 119 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 21 pass defends and four interceptions.
