Cowboys owner Jerry Jones indicated Sunday that Leonard Davis could move to left tackle if Flozell Adams leaves in free agency.

Davis, who played like an All-Pro at right guard in 2007, was a bust as a left tackle in Arizona. It'd be risky to put him on Tony Romo's blind side this year.

Man, I don't like this talk of moving Bigg to LT. He is a Pro Bowler at his position, let him be and find a LT or keep Adams.

Not surprising, I guess they feel the youngsters are not ready and Flo is being unreasonable with his contract demands.

I would rather keep Bigg at RG, but if worst comes to worst, Bigg at LT would not be a complete disaster. I mean the Colts had a rookie LT and the SB champs had freaking Diel at LT, if I remember correctly.

You cant keep everybody, good luck Flo.:)

I know Davis playing LT is a scary thought to many but does anyone think that Big Leonard under the tutelage of Hudson Houck might just work out at LT?

This is just a ploy by Ole Jerry to try to keep contract talks with Flo in the reasonable category----he is smart enough not to appear desperate and that he has other options besides Flo.

But seriously, if it came to life without Flo, Doug Free or McQ will be able to man the LT spot with Houck aboard. Even Jerry is not dumb enough to take Bigg from his natural position and weaken 2 areas.

...before panic sets in, he also mentioned that he's got two good young tackles that are ready to step up and be throw to the wolves so to speak. I highly doubt we're really going to move Davis back to tackle...I think he mentions this as a last resort type move rather than a probability.

It might work out but I'd rather not chance it, honestly. He's great at RG and I'd rather let Free or McQ see what they can do at LT.

If you have to move someone move Columbo back over to LT, where he has played before, and let Free or McQ play RT. I'm just not at all thrilled with the idea of Bigg moving to the LT spot.

It could also be a negotiating ploy. It's difficult to lowball Flozell if you tell everyone that you don't have anyone else who can play that position.

Reality Check Time.

IF Leonard was SUCH A BUST at a LT in Arizona, why was his production SIMILAR to our own Flozell Adams?

Check here.

In Leonard's 3 years at LT, he only averaged:

0.2 sacks more per year
1.0 total penalties more per year
1.5 total penalty yards more per year

Than Flo did in his PRO BOWL YEARS.

Just sayin......

Do not move a Pro Bowl RG to become a average LT and create another hole at the RG.

To me, it will be a desperation move. It creates two weak spots in the OL instead of just one. You can always slide a TE to help or RB to chip that side. But if you move Biggs then you need to help him and the RG.

Davis was a Pro Bowl alternate every season that he played left tackle except one -- his first after moving from guard (where he also was a Pro Bowl alternated).

Nobody within the NFL has ever considered Davis a bust.

Funny how REALITY flies over so many fans around here who live solely on perception.

Go figure.

the good news is Jerry is not the coach. I don't see Hudson Houck moving anyone if he does not want to

Particularly since in the same interview, Jerry said it could work out that Adams wouldn't get to free agency, implying a deal might be in the works in the next coupla days...

When you add that to the equation, the comments about Davis become a rather transparent negotiating ploy...
