27. Dallas Cowboys

Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State*

We're back to running backs in the first round!? Judkins has elite talent, and Dallas ignored the position throughout this offseason beyond a reunion with 29-year-old Ezekiel Elliott. Judkins rushed for 2,725 yards and scored 31 rushing touchdowns over two seasons with Ole Miss before transferring to Ohio State. He will share carries with TreVeyon Henderson there, but the new Buckeye has Heisman-level talent and the burst and balance to be a great NFL running back.

Clearly there are going to need long term answers at RB/WR, but they still have a ton of DL needs and perhaps a playmaking safety.

Defensive end will be number 1 need next offseason with the probable departure of Tank next season. Let’s see how running back plays out this season. I think you only draft a runner early if he is a all around stud.

Talented kid and when we get into the range (late first round) the whole don't-draft-RB-in-the-1st round argument is moot.
In case you haven't noticed: ESPN has flushed their intelligent people down the drain in the past decade and have little relevance for the thinking-folk.

And sorry: Rbs in round one is stoooopid.

Yes, need more then just Lamb, especially when Cooks departs next offseason
They have so many good WR's they might keep 6 this year. And there are a couple more they risk losing that I hope can make it to the PS.

Losing Cooks won't be a big loss. He wasn't even starting at the end of last year Tolbert was.

This is just totally false. Tolbert never even passed Gallup on the depth chart. Snap counts:

MIA - Cooks (79%) Tolbert (36%)
DET - Cooks (78%) Tolbert (38%)
WAS - Cooks (79%) Tolbert (32%)
GB - Cooks (93%) Tolbert (38%)

They have CD, Cooks, and a bunch of guys who have never done anything in the NFL. Maybe Tolbert jumps, but then you are still way too thin at WR if/when Cooks walks.

Are there any legitimate #2 or #3 receivers on this roster outside of Lamb/Cooks? In my opinion, we have a bunch of #4 types until proven otherwise. Drafting a receiver to me is near the top of the list next season.

Not only what they are now - but if, say, Tolbert proves to be a #2, then you are going to have to pay him a whole bunch too, as he's a UFA after next season.

Tolbert was starting for Cooks at the end of the year. That is true not false.

I have no idea why you drug snap count into the conversation. I said nothing about that. In fact, I never mentioned Gallup.

Yes there are. Just because they haven't proven it yet (Tolbert has) doesn't mean there aren't.

There is zero chance the Cowboys go WR in the draft next year until day 3. Then it will be late rounds like they did last April.

It is not true lol.

Snap counts is how you measure who the true starter is. How can a starter play 30-something percent of snaps? What a preposterous point.
