Cowboys place Non-exclusive Franchise Tag on Pickens

Camp?? bahahhaha, did you see 76 year old Phillip Rivers come off his couch after being off the field for nearly 5 years? Guy signed with the team like on a Friday and played well enough to beat the eventual SB Champion Seahawks. Im pretty sure Pickens could miss camp and not need 5 games to be ready to play.
Did you see 30+ year old Clowney took him time to get himself together

I imagine a number of teams would, but not if they have to give up too much draft capital to do it.
Actually kinda interesting dynamic. Given the picks, do teams "price that in" to any offer they give and therefore all of them are super lowball offers?

somebody told tell we wont place a non exclusive tag on him but we just did that but i dont think any team is giving us 2 1st Rd picks for him anyway.

Why are we not surprised. May lose a player then have to fill it again and slow down chances to get to a super bowl

Pickens shouldn’t make a big thing of this.

Yeah I guess they could tag him again next year but the cost would be outrageous. He turns 25 in a few days.

Not as if he would hit the market as an old man.

This is just a stupid way of going about things from the teams perspective, but here we are yet again. You aren’t getting him for 30 per if he puts up another season like last….but I guess more leaves need to fall.

Either you want to keep him or you don’t. You’re not talking him into taking some ridiculous discount and they should have known this before trading for him.

Yeah he and Lamb make an incredible duo, but it also led to a seven win season…with a healthy QB.

While I agree most teams won’t give up 2 1st’s, that haul is negotiable. But, I’m still glad they didn’t just car and throw $36M at him without even finding out what THE REST OF THE LEAGUE thinks he’s worth. Now, what if KC or Buffalo actually come to the table and give him MORE than CeeDee…and Dallas negotiates the haul as a 1 & 3 and then they go out and sign a WR like Romeo Doubs to a deal that’s half of Pickens’ - is that a win for Dallas? Unfortunately, Dallas fans should know Doubs well as he’s lit them up in 2 career games against to the tune of 12 catches for 209 yards and 4 TD’s. While Doubs ain’t Pickens, he’s a pretty damn good 2, and he’ll only be 26 this year. Thoughts?

Tag question- He is allowed to speak with interested teams. Can he work out for them or just discuss possibilities?
