This is my evaluation of each player in terms of how they played last year and if they improved or regressed. Let's keep this fun...

Quarterbacks

* 9 Tony Romo + Only started 1 1/2 seasons and is getting better.

* 14 Brad Johnson - One year older and hasn't taken meaningful snaps in a while.

Running Backs

* 24 Marion Barber + Is still getting better and is still young
* 28 Felix Jones rookie
* 29 Tashard Choice rookie
* 34 Deon Anderson FB + Was out of shape due to injury but is coming off of rookie season and should have a better understanding of the game.

Wide Receivers

* 81 Terrell Owens - He hasn't regressed much but he is a year older now
* 84 Patrick Crayton + Playing as #2 last year gave him more experience
* 83 Terry Glenn N/A. Not sure how to evaluate him. He should be more recovered but is still day to day and a year older.
* 19 Miles Austin + This is his third year and reports indicate he is putting things together.
* 17 Sam Hurd + Same as Austin. Reports indicate that he has made strides in the offseason.
* 86 Isaiah Stanback + Benefited from his first off season workouts.

Tight Ends

* 82 Jason Witten + Took a more active role in the receiving game and should continue that path.

* 89 Tony Curtis + Still improving.
* 80 Martellus Bennett rookie

Offensive Linemen

* 76 Flozell Adams T - Still good but a year older
* 75 Marc Colombo T + Getting better the more he plays
* 70 Leonard Davis G + Revived his career after switch from OT. Should be even better this year.
* 68 Doug Free T + Have not heard much about him but was a rookie last year and should be better
* 65 Andre Gurode C + Still getting better
* 63 Kyle Kosier G - Solid player but is limited physically
* 78 James Marten T + Another rookie from last year that should be improved
* 77 Pat McQuistan T + Is getting better but will need quality playing time to really improve
* 71 Cory Procter C - Physically limited and inexperienced.

Defensive Linemen

* 96 Marcus Spears DE - Will probably start to see less and less snaps this year

* 90 Jay Ratliff NT/DE + Having Tank will help Ratliff be more explosive
* 99 Chris Canty DE + Is developing in a very solid player
* 66 Tank Johnson NT + Great offseason workout and should make an impact this season
* 97 Jason Hatcher DE + Limited due to injuries but should see more opportunities
* 92 Remi Ayodele NT + Limited physically but was a rookie last season and should be better
* 72 Stephen Bowen DE + limited player but is one year smarter

Linebackers

* 94 DeMarcus Ware OLB + Probably the leagues best OLB and still getting better

* 56 Bradie James ILB + Should be in the prime of his career and benefited from weight loss last season
* 55 Zach Thomas ILB - Very smart, hard-nosed player but is older an has injury issues
* 98 Greg Ellis OLB - Was great last season but is past his prime playing age
* 54 Bobby Carpenter ILB + Should be his year to prove himself and will benefit from Thomas' leadership
* 93 Anthony Spencer OLB + First year at new position last year so he should be much improved this year
* 57 Kevin Burnett ILB + Has gotten better each year and this year won't be any different
* 53 Erik Walden OLB rookie

Defensive Backs

* 41 Terence Newman CB + Is in the prime of his career physically
* 42 Anthony Henry CB - Injuries have kept him from being spectacular and he isn't getting younger

We will twist for that team to be champion that year, because we are needing, the last was in 1995.

It didn't look like it too much but we're one of the youngest teams in the league. Agreed with most of it

No offense man, but you dont know enough about what has been going on with the players this offseason to do a progression report. This isnt Madden. Just because you're young doesnt mean you will automatically improve, and just because you're older (T.O. Zach Thomas) doesnt mean you will not get better.

If you saw them during OTA's and all of that then there would be merit. But this is just a diagnosis of players age and what they did last year, and that its possible to build on that, and/or regress.

It's just a natural pattern of physics for player attributes to decrease as they get older. Luckily, we have one of the youngest teams in the league and that is impressive. If I were to do a Patriots analysis, it would have way more red than green.

You are also more comfortable and confident in your role on the field, and make far less mental mistakes.

A young team doesnt equal improvement, just like an old team doesnt equal regressing.

If he was over the head injury, he would sign that 41/2 million dollar sheet and get his butt on the field!

Hey, nice to see ya. Glad to find out you are lurking. I never got the details about the semi-retirement from the board. Can someone point me to the thread?
